Kim Tae Won, 30 yılı aşkın bir süredir Kore Müzik Endüstrisinde yer alan Güney Koreli bir gitaristtir.

1985 yılında kendi kurduğu, Kore Müzik tarihinin en başarılı rock gruplarından olan BooHwal'in lideridir.
Lise yıllarında 300 puana kadar ulaşmış yetenekli bir bilardo oyuncusudur.
Gitar çalmadaki yeteneği ise çok daha üstündür. Henüz ortaokulda iken Led Zeppelin’in Babe I’m Gonna Leave You şarkısını ve Deep Purple’ın Highway Star şarkısının sonundaki gitar solosunu (normalden çok daha hızlı tempoda) beceriyle çalabilmektedir.
O yıllarda doğum yeri olan Seodaemun civarındaki öğrenciler arasında ünlenmiş ve "herkesin tanıdığı en iyi gitarist" takma adı ile anılmıştır.

20 yaşında, biri daha sonra o dönemde yeni kurulmuş rock grubu olan Sinawe'ye katılmak için gruptan ayrılacak olan Kim Jong Seo olmak üzere, iki arkadaşı ile birlikte The End grubunu kurmuştur. The End grubu ile batı rock müziğinin bilinen şarkılarını düzenleyerek çok çeşitli yerlerde sahne almıştır.
Kim Jong Seo gruptan ayrılırken The End / Son olan grubun adı BooHwal / Yeniden Doğuş olarak değiştirilmiştir. Ardından gruba vokalist olarak Lee Seung Cheol katılmış ve ilk hit şarkıları olan Heeya (희야) ile büyük bir başarı getirmiştir.
Boohwal'in pek çok şarkısı Kim'in kendisi tarafından yazılıp bestelenmektedir. Kim aynı zamanda birkaç üniversitede gitar dersleri vermektedir.
Kim Tae Won, gitar çalmadaki yeteneği ve duruşu ile eski ve yeni bir çok sanatçıya örnek olmaktadır, ve gitar tekniği pek çok müzisyen tarafından taklit edilmiştir.
Paul Geppetto Guitars markası adı altında kendi gitar fabrikasını kurmuştur ve Bornstar Entertainment CEO'luğunu üstlenmektedir.

Kim Tae Won, Lee Hyun Ju (이현주) ile evlidir; 13 yaşında otistik bir oğlu ve 16 yaşında müzisyen bir kızı vardır.
Kızı Kris Leone (Kim Suh Hyun), 31.01.2013 tarihinde, söz ve müzikleri kendisine ait olan, dijital single Into the Skies ile müzik dünyasına adım atmıştır.

Kim Tae Won, Mart 2009 - Nisan 2013 tarihleri arasında KBS2 kanalında yayınlanan Qualifications of a Man programında yer almıştır. Kim programda, güçlü ve ulaşılamaz bir imaj çizmiş ve 20. yüzyıl rock gruplarının asi ve karizmatik imajına katkıda bulunarak izleyicilerin sevgisini kazanmıştır. Programda, köklerini kaybetmeyen bir müzisyen ve Boohwal'in lideri olarak Kim, samimi ve karizmatik karakteri için onurlandırılarak izleyiciler tarafından Ulusun Büyük Annesi adı verilmiştir. Bu kazanılması kolay olmayan takma isim, izleyicilerin Kim'in samimiyetine ve sadeliğine duydukları saygıyı temsil etmesi amacı ile verilmiştir.
Kim Tae Won'un ortaokuldan 2003 yılına kadar olan hayatı, şarkıcı-aktör olan No Min Woo tarafından 4 bölümlük kısa dizi Rock, Rock, Rock'da canlandırıldı.

Kim müzik hayatına, BooHwal'in gitaristi / lideri olarak ve bir çok Reality Show'da ve sosyal içerikli etkinliklerde yer alarak devam etmektedir.

Kim Tae Won is a South Korean guitarist with over 30 years of experience in Korean music industry.
 
He leads one of the most successful rock band in Korean music history, BooHwal.
He was a talented billiards player, having achieved the level of 300 points as a highschool senior. His guitar skill was even more outstanding. He is said to have been able to play proficiently the guitar riff in Led Zeppelin’s Babe I’m Gonna Leave You in middle school and the guitar solo of (towards the end of the song) Deep Purple’s Highway Star at a much faster speed than normal. He slowly rose to fame among fellow students in the Seodaemun area, his home town. He was called "the best guitarist everybody knows."

At 20, he founded a rock band The End with two colleagues, one of whom was Kim Jong Seo who later left the band to join a then more established rock band Sinawe. With The End, he performed covers of western rock songs for audiences in various places in Korea.
It was when Kim Jong Seo joined The End that the band changed its name into Boohwal, which means resurrection in Korean. After Kim Jong Seo left the band, Lee Seung Cheol joined the band as a new lead vocal, who brought huge success to the band with Boohwal's first hit number, Heeya (희야).
He writes, composes and arranges songs. Most of the Boohwal songs written and composed by Kim Tae Won himself. He teachs to play guitar in several university.
Kim Tae Won leads by example to many new and old musician by his guitar talent and musical personality. His guitar style has been imitated by many musicians.
He estabilished his own guitar factory , under the brand name Paul Geppetto Guitars and become Bornstar Entertainment ceo.

Kim Tae Won is married to Lee Hyun Ju (이현주). Kim has one 13 years old son with autisim and 16 years old daughter who is a singer.
Her daughter Kris Leone (Kim Suh Hyun) made her debut in early 2013 with a digital single Into the Skies which has 2 main songs written and composed by Kris Leone herself.

Kim Tae Won, has starred in a KBS variety show Qualifications of a Man between the dates March 2009 and April 2013. He had a powerful, unapproachable image in the show and he won the love of viewers by his contributing to the rebellious and charismatic image of all rock bands in the 20th century.
In the show, as the leader of Boohwal and he who never lost sight of his roots as a musician, to honer his honest and charismatic personality viewers gave him the nick name Nation's Grandmother which symbolise their respect to his honesty and baldness.
His life was dramatised in a four episode KBS2 short series Rock, Rock, Rock where Kim was portrayed by musician-actor No Min Woo. The four episode musical drama follows Kim's life from middle school to 2003.

Kim continues his musical life as the leader and guitarist of Boohwal and appears in many Reality Show and social content events.
