Kim Na Young 18 kasim 1990 yilinda Güney Kore'de Jeonju'da dünyaya geldi.Bes yasindayken ailesi ile birlikte Inchon'a tasindi.Böylece onun buz pateniyle olan iliskisi de baslamis oldu.Bu ise giristiginde bes yasindaydi.Daha henüz 10 yasindayken buz pateninde zor bir hareket olan double axel jump'i rahatça yapabiliyordu.Ilk katildigi müsabakada dördüncülük gibi güzel bir derece elde etti.Bu yarismada henüz 12 yasindaydi.13 yasinda ise dizi ile ilgili önemli bir sakatlik yasadi.2005-2006 sezonunda Hirvatistan'da yapilan Junior Grand Prix 'de 16. oldu.Ardindan Estonya'da 19. oldu.Kendi ülkesinde ise ikinciligi gögüsledi.

Sanssizliklar Kim'i yalniz birakmadi.Içinde bulundugu özel oto 2006 yilinda kaza geçirdi.Burada ufak sakatliklar geçiren Kim, asla yilmadi ve çalismalarini sürdürdü.Böylece 2007 yilinda Güney Kore'de sampiyon olmayi basardi ve altin madalyayi kendi evine götürdü.Bunun ardindan asya buz pateni sampiyonasinda ikincilik derecesine çikmayi basarmis ve gümüs madalyayi ülkesine kazandirmistir.2008'de yapilan Dünya buz pateni sampiyonasinda programi 19. olarak kapamistir.Çalismalarina halen devam ediyor.
