6 Dead, 8 Missing in Central Region Due to Heavy Rain

Şiddetli Yağış Sebebiyle Merkez Bölgede 6 Ölü, 8 Kayıp

Ülkenin merkez bölgesinde şiddetli yağış sebebiyle hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı altıya yükseldi.

Merkez Güvenlik ve Afet Önleme Karargahının yaptığı açıklamaya göre; pazartesi günü sabah 6 itibariyle, şiddetli yağmurla ilişkili kazalarda ölen kişilerin sayısı altıya yükseldi. Sekiz kişi ise hala kayıp.

80lerindeki bir adam, cumartesi günü Gwanak Bölgesindeki Dorim Çayı boyunca yürürken sele kapılmasının ardından Seoul’da can verdi. Gyeonngi Eyaletinde bulunan Anseong’daki tavuk çiftliğinde çalışan bir işçi ise Pazar günü heyelanda can verdi.

Kuzey Chungcheong Eyaleti’nde bulunan Chungju’da, iki kişi daha heyelan sebebiyle hayatını kaybetti. Jecheon ve Eumseong’da da yine heyelan ve şiddetli yağmur sebebiyle hayatını kaybeden birer kişi var.

Kuzey Chungcheong Eyaleti’nde ise 8 kişi kayıp olarak bildirildi.

Karargah, Pazar günü öğleden sonra 3 itibariyle, ülke çapında acil önlem seviyesini en yüksek üç olarak belirledi.

Casualties from torrential rain that has been battering the nation’s central region have climbed to six. 

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters said as of 6 a.m. Monday, six people died in rain-related accidents, while eight others remain missing.

A man in his 80s died in Seoul after being swept away in a flash flood while walking along Dorim Stream in Gwanak District on Saturday, while a worker at a chicken farm in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, died in a landslide on Sunday.

Two others also died in landslides in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, while Jecheon and Eumseong each saw one death related to landslides and rapid torrents of rain.

The eight people reported missing were all from North Chungcheong Province as well.

Meanwhile, the headquarters has maintained the nationwide emergency response level at the highest of three since it raised it at 3 p.m. Sunday.

S. Korea Reports 23 New COVID-19 Cases, Local Infections Hit 3-Month Low

Güney Kore, yerel bulaşmada önemli ölçüde düşüş görerek 23 yeni COVID-19 vakası bildirdi.

Pazartesi günü öğlen 12 itibariyle, Kore Hastalık Kontrol ve Önleme Merkezinin yaptığı açıklamaya göre; üç gündür üst üste 30’dan fazla vaka görülüyordu. Ülkenin yeni koronavirüs toplam vaka sayısı ise 14,389.

Yeni vakaların 20’si yurtdışından gelenlerde görüldü. 14’ü ise geliş sırasında teşhiş edildi.

Yerel bulaşma sayısı 87 gündür; Seoul Bölgesinde; Başkent ve Gyeonggi Eyaleti de dahil olmak üzere, en düşük seviyede.

Virüs sebebiyle hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı ise 301.

South Korea has reported 23 new COVID-19 cases amid a significant fall in local infections.

The latest daily figure put out by the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as of 12 a.m. Monday follows three consecutive days with more than 30 new cases. The country’s cumulative novel coronavirus tally now stands at 14-thousand-389.

Of the new cases, 20 were imported from overseas, including 14 detected upon arrival.

The number of domestic transmissions hit an 87 day-low of three, all from the greater Seoul area, including two in the capital city and one in Gyeonggi Province.

Meanwhile, the virus-related death toll remained at 301.

Kore Hastalık Kontrol ve Önleme Merkezi (KCDC)nin pazartesi günü yaptığı açıklamaya göre; 24 saat içindeki öğlen 12’ye kadar açıklanan yeni vakalar da dahil olmak üzere toplamda 14,626 koronavirüsü vakası bulunuyor.

Güney Kore, Pazar günü 36; Cumartesi günü 43 yeni vaka açıkladı.

Son duruma göre; 17 yerel vakanın biri hariç hepsi Seoul bölgesinde. Namdeamun Marketiyle ilişkili vakalar da dahil olmak üzere Seoul 11 korona vakası bildirirken Gyeonggi Eyaletinde 5 vaka görüldü.

11 vakanın 6'sı ülke dışından gelenlerde görüldü. Ülkeye giriş yaptıkları sırada tespit edildi. 6 vaka ise yabancı uyruklu kimselerde ortaya çıktı.

Virüs sebebiyle hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı değişmedi. Toplamda 305 kişi hayata gözlerini yumdu.

South Korea has reported 28 new COVID-19 cases.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(KCDC) said on Monday that 14-thousand-626 novel coronavirus cases have been confirmed so far, including the new figure compiled in the 24-hour period ending 12 a.m.

The nation added 36 cases and 43 cases on Sunday and Saturday, respectively.

Of the latest cases, 17 were local infections, with all but one from the greater Seoul area. The capital city recorded 11 cases, including those linked to a cluster at Namdaemun Market, while Gyeonggi Province added five.

Six of the 11 cases attributed to overseas transmissions were detected upon arrival, while six of the imported ones involved foreign nationals.

The virus-related death toll remained unchanged at 305.

Typhoon Jangmi to Hit S. Korea Monday with More Rain

Tayfun Jangmi Pazartesi Günü Güney Kore'yi Bol Yağış Getirerek Vuracak

Ülkeye başka bir tayfunun yaklaşması sebebiyle Güney Kore, Salı günü daha fazla yağış bekliyor.

Mevsimin saatte 45 km hızla kuzeyden gelen beşinci tayfunu Jangmi'nin saat sabah 9 sularında Jeju Adasının 80 km güneydoğusundaki sulara vurması bekleniyor.

Tropik fırtınanın öğlen 3 gibi Busan yakınlarındaki güney kıyılarını vurmasının ve akşam 9 sularında ise Doğu Denizindeki Ulleung Adasının sularını geçmesinin ardından Kore yarımadasını terk etmesi bekleniyor.

Tayfunun, Salı gününe kadar güney kıyı bölgelerine ve Jiri Dağı’na 250 mm yağış getirmesi ön görülüyor.

Chuncheong Eyaletinde, ülkenin güneyinin yarısında ve Jeju Adası’nda ise 150 mmye kadar yağış bekleniyor. Başkent bölgesi ve Gangwon Eyaletinde ise 80 mmye kadar yağış bekleniyor.

Pazartesi günü tayfunun ayrıca Gyeongsang’daki güney kıyılarına, Jeolla eyaletina ve Jeju Adasına saniyede 20m üzerinde güçlü rüzgar getirmesi bekleniyor.

South Korea will receive more rain through Tuesday as another typhoon is approaching the country.

The season's fifth typhoon, Jangmi, is heading north at speeds of 45 kilometers per hour and is expected to arrive in waters 80 kilometers southeast of Jeju Island at around 9 a.m.

The tropical storm is forecast to make landfall on the southern coast near Busan at around 3 p.m. and pass waters off Ulleung Island in the East Sea at 9 p.m. before exiting the Korean Peninsula.

The typhoon is expected to bring up to 250 millimeters of heavy rain until Tuesday to southern coastal areas and Mount Jiri.

Chungcheong provinces, southern half of the country and Jeju Island are forecast to receive up to 150 millimeters. The capital region and Gangwon Province are likely to have up to 80 millimeters of rain.

The typhoon is also expected to bring strong winds of over 20 meters per second to Jeju Island and the southern coastal areas in Gyeongsang and Jeolla provinces on Monday.

South Korea Reports 166 New Daily Covid-19 Cases; Three-digit Infections for Second Straight Day

Güney Kore, arka arkaya cumartesi günü de üç haneli COVID-19 vakası bildirdi.

Kore Hastalık Kontrol ve Önleme Merkezi (KCDC)ye göre; ülkenin günlük koronavirüs vakası Cuma gecesi itibariyle 166’yı bularak toplamda 15,039 oldu. Yeni vakalardan 155’I yerel enfeksiyon.

Cuma günü KCDC 103 yeni vaka bildirdi.

Yeni vaka sayısı, ülkenin günde 242 yeni enfeksiyon bildirdiği 11 Mart’tan bu yana en yüksek seviyede.

KCDC, yükselişin devam etmesi durumunda sosyal mesafe uygulamasının geri getirilebileceğini duyurdu.

Cuma günü, hükümetin yaptığı açıklamaya göre; Seoul ve çevresindeki bölgelerindeki vaka artımını durdurmak için önlemlerin Level 2 seviyesine yükseltileceğini duyurdu.

Güney Kore’de koronavirüs sebebiyle hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı 305’te kaldı. Ölüm oranı ise %2.03.

South Korea reported three-digit Covid-19 infections for the second day in a row Saturday.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or KCDC, the country's new daily coronavirus tally reached 166 as of midnight Friday, raising the total caseload to 15,039. Of the new cases, 155 were local infections.

On Friday, the KCDC  reported 103 new daily cases.

The new case number was the largest since March 11, when the country reported 242 new daily infections.

The KCDC has warned that the easing of social distancing guidance may be rolled back if the upward trend continues.

On Friday, the government said it was considering strengthening the infection preventive measures in Seoul and neighboring areas by one notch to Level 2.

South Korea, meanwhile, reported no additional fatalities, keeping the death toll at 305. The fatality rate was 2.03 percent.

Kore Hastalık Önleme ve Kontrol Merkezi (KCDC) pazartesi günü öğlen 12 itibariyle tamamlanan 24 saatlik sürenin sonunda 197 yeni vaka bildirdi. Toplam koronavirüs vaka sayısı 15,515 oldu.

Ülke, Pazar günü beş ayın en yüksek sayısı olarak 267’si yerel bulaşma olan toplam 279 vaka bildirdi. Cumartesi ve Cuma günü ise sırasıyla 166 ve 103 yeni vaka görüldü.

Son vakaların 188’i yerel vaka olurken 9 tanesi yurtdışından gelenlerde görüldü.

South Korea's daily COVID-19 cases have hit triple digits for the fourth consecutive day amid a resurgence in local transmissions.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(KCDC) on Monday reported 197 cases compiled in the past 24 hours ending at 12 a.m., lifting the cumulative tally to 15-thousand-515.

The country registered a five-month high of 279 on Sunday, 267 of which were local infections. Saturday and Friday saw 166 and 103 new cases, respectively.

Of the latest cases, 188 were classified as domestic while the nine others were overseas transmissions.

Yeni vakaların 11’I yurtdışından gelenlerde görüldü. 61 vaka ise yerel. Seoul’da 23; Gyeonggi Eyaleti’nde 24 ve Incheon’da ise 8 vaka bildirildi.

Hayati tehlikesi süren COVID-19 hasta sayısı ise 89.

İki kişi ise hayata gözlerini yumdu. Toplam vefat sayısı 430 oldu.

South Korea has reported less than 100 new COVID-19 cases for a third straight day.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that 72 new cases were detected throughout Friday, bringing the accumulated caseload to 24-thousand-548.

Of the new cases, eleven were imported. Of the 61 cases that were locally transmitted, the majority came from the wider capital area with 23 in Seoul, 24 in Gyeonggi Province and eight in Incheon.

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients stands at 89.

Two more deaths were reported, raising the coronavirus death toll to 430.

Kore Hastalık Önleme ve Araştırma (KDCA)nın Salı günü yaptığı açıklamaya göre; pazartesi günü için 58 yeni vaka açıklandı. Toplamda sayı 25,333’ü buldu.

Günlük vaka sayısı bir önceki güne göre 18 kişi daha az ve beşinci günde de çift haneli kaldı. Ancak yine de sağlık yetkilileri, bakımevlerinde ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde devam eden küme enfeksiyonlar; barlarda ve çağrı merkezlerinde ara sıra ortaya çıkan salgınlar nedeniyle tetikte olunması gerektiğini belirtti. 41 vaka yerel olarak görülürken, 17’si ise dışarıdan ithal edildi.

Yerel vaka sayısı Cuma gününden bu yana ilk kez 50’nin altına düştü. Çoğu üç büyük merkezde ortaya çıktı; 11’I Seoul’da, 22’si Gyeonggi Eyaletinde ve 3’ü de Incheon’da görüldü.

KOVID-19 sebebiyle hayati tehlikesi kritik olanları sayısı 71’e yükseldi.

South Korea's daily new COVID-19 cases remained below 100 for the fifth consecutive day.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Tuesday that 58 additional cases were confirmed throughout Monday, bringing the accumulated caseload to 25-thousand-333.

The daily figure dropped by 18 from the previous day and remained in double-digits for five consecutive days. Health authorities, however, remain alert amid continued cluster infections at nursing homes and rehabilitation hospitals, and sporadic outbreaks at call centers and bars.

Of the new cases, 41 were domestic while 17 were imported.

The number of local cases dropped to below 50 for the first time since Friday. Most came from the wider metro area, including eleven in Seoul, 22 in Gyeonggi Province and three in Incheon.

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients decreased by seven to 71.

Three more virus-related deaths were reported, raising the country's death toll to 447. The fatality rate stands at one-point-76 percent.
