Gwacheon şehri Güney Kore'nin Gyeonggi eyaletindedir. Gwacheon Seoul'n kalbine yakın yerde Seoul Ulusal Başkent bölgesinde ve ayrıca Anyang'ın doğusunda yer almaktadır. Seoul Metro Hattı 4, kentin ortasından geçer.
Seul Grand Park, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seul Land, Gwacheon Ulusal Bilim Müzesi ve Seul Race Park gibi Seul ile ilişkili çeşitli konumlar şehirde bulunmaktadır. Kore Hükümetinin önemli bir yönetim merkezi yeridir.

Özellikleri

Gwacheon, hükümetin inşaat sektöründe büyük öneme sahiptir. Burada No.2 hükümet binası bulunmaktadır. Bu yüzden planlı şehir, Güney Kore'de siyaset ile ilgili konumunu korur.
Seul Grand Park ve Gwanaksan şehrin büyük bir bölümünü işgal eder.Dağlar ve ormanın varlığı, Kore doğa severler için Gwacheon'u popüler bir hedef haline getirir. Ayrıca, Seoul Racehorse Park'ı şehirde yer almaktadır.
Ayrıca ilk Yabancı Dil Lisesi Gyeonggi-do kurulmuştur, Gwacheon Yabancı Dil Lisesi Jongang-dong'da bulunmaktadır.

Ünlü grafik sanatçısı Dennis Hwang çocukluğunu Gwacheon'da geçirmiştir.

Festival

Hanmadang, Gwacheon'da düzenlenen en bilinen festivaldir. Hanmadang herkesin bir araya gelebileceği yer anlamına gelmektedir. Festival şehrin her bölgesinde temel olarak sanat, müzik ve oyunlar sunmaktadır.

Home-Stay Programı

Gwacheon'da yabancılar için bir home-stay programı çalışır. Geleneksel Kore evinde bir gece geçirmek isteyen yabancılar şehrin sponsorlarıyla bu program ile sakinlerin evinde ikamet eder. Bu program yabancıların Kore kültürünü ve yaşayışını anlamasına yardımcı olur.

Gwacheon Yönetim Kompleksi içerisinde Arazi, Ulaştırma ve Denizcilik İşleri Bakanlığı Gwacheon dördüncü binasında bulunur.

Gwacheon is a city in Gyeonggi-do Province, South Korea. It lies close to Seoul in the heart of the Seoul National Capital Area, and also lies just east of Anyan. Seoul Subway Line 4 passes through the city.
Various attractions associated with Seoul, including Seoul Grand Park, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seul Land, National Gwacheon Science Museum ,and Seoul Racehorse Park are located in the city. It is also home to a major administrative center of the Korean government

Characteristics

Gwacheon intended to have a large importance on governmental construction. There is No.2 government building. So it keeps the position of planned city concerning politics in South Korea.

Seoul Grand Park and Gwanaksan occupy a large portion of the city. The presence of mountains and forests accentuate the status of Gwacheon as a popular destination for Korean nature lovers. In addition, the Seoul Racehorse Park is also located in the city.

Also, the first Foreign Language High School established in Gyeonggi-do, Gwacheon Foreign Language High School is located in Jongang-dong.

Residents

Noted graphic artist Dennis Hwang spent much of his childhood in Gwacheon.

Festival

Hanmadang festival is the most well-known event held in the Gwacheon area. Hanmadang means "the place where everybody can get together." The festival allows for the presentation of music, art, and plays in this part of the city.

Home-stay Program

Gwacheon city operates a home stay program for foreigners. The city sponsors this program and residents of the city host foreigners living in Korea who want to spend a night in a traditional Korean home. The program helps foreigners understand Korean culture and lifestyle.

Government

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs has its headquarters in the fourth building of the Gwacheon Government Complex, in Gwacheon.
