Geumjin Port / 금진항

Geumjin karaya çok yakın, Meokjin denilen yerin hemen yanındadır. 1916 yılında Liman olarak açıldı. Ayrıca buranın yakınında ( 3-9 Eylül arasında ) Catch Festivali düzenlenmektedir.

Bu limanda çok fazla yassı balık çıkmaktadır. Yassı balıkların her çeşidini bulabilirsiniz. Bu nedenle bir çok ziyaretçi bu balıkları görmeye geliyor ve gemi kiralıyor.

Geumjin'in suyu 1960-70 yıllarında en güzel zamanlarını yaşadı. Çünkü o zamanlar gayet temizdi. Ancak şimdilerde herkes o günlerdeki suyu arıyor. Şimdi ise yine o zamanlardaki sulara geri kavuşmak için aylık arıtma yapılıyor.

In Geumjin-ri there are black soil and a port so that it was called Meokjin or Heukjin. It was merged with Geonnam-ri in 1916 according to the revision of administrative districts and became Geumjin. It is said that the shape of the back hill looks like Chinese character ‘Geum’ so that is was called Geumjin. However, the character ‘Geum’ was phonetically borrowed from the meaning of ‘black’.
The Large Catch Festival is held in March 3 and September 9.
Yujamang (a way to catch by setting a net in a line in the middle of the sea) and Jeongchimang (a way to catch consistently by setting a net like a house in the fixed place under the sea) fisheries are popular, and the maritime distance is about 1 to 5km. In weekend many visitors sitting on the breakwater and fishing with enjoying the view of the port come to the port.
Especially this area is famous for fishing flatfish so that visitors often rent a ship to go flatfish fishing.
The coastal road from Geumjin to Simgok is Heonwha-ro. It is within a 5-minute driving distance if you drive along the sea.Even though it is a pretty big port, it keeps the shape of the typical port well in 1960s and 1970s untouched that reminds us of the clear and pure seawater. It gives us a peace of mind to see the scene.
