Kore Jeoloji ve Mineral Kaynakları Enstitüsü, 1993 Daejeon Fuarı hazırlıklarında 1992 yılında Jeoloji Müzesi kurdu. Sonraları daha çok insanın müzeyi ziyaret etmesiyle, 2000 yılında 20,000 ziyaretçiye ulaştı. Bu modayı takiben, yeni bir etkinlik sistemli ve profesyonel bir şekilde ortaya kondu ve mineral, kaya ve fosil kapasitesi ihtiyaca göre idare edildi. Dahası, Kore’ nin uzmanlaşmış ilk Jeoloji müzesi 1997’ de kuruldu. Dış görünüşüyle Stegosaurus’u andırır. 101 dönüm arazi üzerine kurulmuş müzenin bina kısmı bodrum katıyla birlikte üç kattan oluşur. 2,424 dönümdür. Merkezi sergi salonu, üç adet ana sergi salonu ve bir de açık hava sergi salonu vardır. 2000 parça fosil, mineral, kaya sergi edilir. Ayrıca, bir A/V Odası ve binadan ayrı bir odası vardır.

Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources established a museum of Geoscience samples in 1992 in preparation for Daejeon Expo of 1993. Later as more people began to visit the museum of Geoscience samples, more than 20,000 people visited here in 2000. Following this trend, a new facility that systematically and professionally exhibits and manages the minerals, rocks and fossils with larger capacity was needed. Therefore, Korea’s first specialized Geoscience museum was established in 1997. With the exterior resembling the backbones of a Stegosaurus, the Geoscience museum is composed of a basement and two stories as large as 0.6acres on 2.5acres of property and has a central exhibition hall, three main exhibition halls and an outdoor exhibition hall. About 2000 pieces of fossils, minerals and rocks are exhibited. There also is an A/V Room and a sample room in a separated building.
