Gapyeong İlçesi, Güney Kore'nin Gyeonggi eyaletinde bir ilçedir. Kore tarihinde büyük bir muharebe olan Kapyong Muharebesi’nin olduğu yerdir.

Gapyeong, doğal güzelliklerinden dolayı iyi tanınmıştır. Doğuda dağlık bir eyalet olan Gangwon'a komşudur. Han Nehri'nin kuzey kolu alan boyunca akar. Buralarda birkaç su deposu ve dinlenme tesisi vardır.

Tarih

Üç Krallık Dönemi
Gapyeong İlçesinin bir bölümü olan Gapyeong-eub, Goguryeo'nun ilk topraklarıydı ve Geunpyeong-gun yada Pyeongbyeong-gun deniliyordu, burası daha sonra Sill'ya dahil oldu.

Silla (757)
Birleşik Silla döneminde Kral Gyeondeok saltanatı sırasında bugünkü ismi Gapyeong-gun ile anılmaya başlandı.

Goryeo (1018)
Goryeo Kralı Hyeonjong'un 9. yılında Chunju'nun bir bölgesi oldu.

Joseon
1413 yılında (Taejong'nun saltanatının 13. yılı), Gangweon-do'dan Gyeonggi-do'ya dahil oldu ve il memuru vali olarak bu bölgeye sevk edildi.

1973
Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kararnamesi No. 6542'ye göre 1 Temmuz tarihinde idari bir bölge olarak yeniden yapılandırıldı (12 Mart 1973 yılında ilan edildi), Gapyeong-myeon Gapyeong-eub oldu.

2004
1 Aralık 2004 tarihinde idari alanın ismi Weoseo-myeon'dan Cheongpyeong-myeon olarak değiştirildi.

Gapyeong County is a county in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It was the scene of the Battle of Kapyong, a major battle of the Korean War.

Gapyeong is also well known for its natural beauty. It borders the mountainous province of Gangwon on the east. The north branch of the Han River flows through the area. Several reservoirs and resorts are located in the county.

History

Three Kingdoms Period
Gapyeong-eub, which is part of Gapyeong County, was first a territory of Goguryeo and was called Geunpyeong-gun or Pyeongbyeong-gun, and was later incorporated into Shilla.

Shilla (757)
During the reign of King Gyeondeok of Unified Shilla, named to today ' s Gapyeong-gun

Goryeo (1018)
Became a part of Chunju in the 9 th year of King Hyeonjong of Goryeo

Joseon
In 1413 (13 th year of Taejong), it was incorporated into Gyeonggi-do from Gangweon-do and a provincial officer was dispatched to this area as the governor

1973
Reorganized as an administrative district in July 1 according to the Presidential Decree No. 6542 (declared in March 12, 1973 ) and Gapyeong-myeon became promoted to Gapyeong-eub.

2004
Administrative area name change from Weoseo-myeon to Cheongpyeong-myeon on December 1, 2004
