Forest Fire / 산불 (1989)



Kore Savaşı başladı ve Gyu-bok'un köyü boşaltılır. O dağlara kaçar, orada bir kadın onu tehdit eder, Jum-rye, onun yaralı bacağına bakar ve onunla ilgilenir. Gyu-bok ve Jum-rye yakınlaşırlar. Sa-wol bunu görür ve o ona karşı hayvani duygular besler. Gyu-bok kendine zarar verecek bir tehlike olduğunu hisseder. Sa-wol onunla birlikte olur ve hamile kalır. Bir gün, deli Haeng-gol'un annesi Sa-wol'u takip eder. O, dağda kulübenin içinde Gyu-bok'un, kocasının olduğunu düşünür. O kulübenin etrafına petrol döker ve yakar.

The Korean War has begun and it sweeps over Gyu-bok's village. He escapes to mountains where he threatens a woman, Jum-rye, to bandage his injured leg and take care of him. Gyu-bok and Jum-rye grow close. Sa-wol sees this and she feels an animal love for him. Gyu-bok feels danger but becomes self-destructive. He is won over by Sa-wol's body and she eventually becomes pregnant. One day, the insane Haeng-gol's mom follows behind Sa-wol footsteps. She thinks that Gyu-bok inside the hut in the mountains is her husband. She pours oil around the hut and lights it.
