Foreigners own 0.5 pct of Jeju Island

Yabancilar Jeju Adasi'nin Yüzde 0.5'ine Sahip

Cumartesi günü eyalet hükümeti, yabancilarin Güney Kore'nin popüler tatil adasi Jeju'daki arazinin yüzde 0.51'ine sahip oldugunu söyledi.

Bölge hükümeti, gayrimenkul ticareti yönetim sisteminden toplanan verilere göre geçen yil itibariyle yabancilara ait arazinin toplam degerinin 237.8 milyar wona (209.7 milyon ABD$) ulastigini söyledi.

Foreigners own 0.51 percent of land on South Korea's popular resort island of Jeju, the provincial government said Saturday.

The regional government said based on data collected from its real estate trade management system, the total value of land owned by foreigners reached 237.8 billion won (US$209.7 million) as of late last year.

Housing Prices Increase 4.3 Pct Nationwide

Konut fiyatlari Ülke Çapinda % 4.3 Artti

Hükümetin yaptigi bir arastirmaya göre, konut fiyatlari 2011 yilina kiyasla ülke çapinda ortalama % 4.3 artti.

Arazi Bakanligi, ocak ayindan beri ülkedeki yaklasik 10 milyon 630 bin evde bu arastirmalarin yapildigini söyledi. Bu evler arasinda; 8.63 milyon daire, 450 bin sehir evleri ve 1.55 milyon çok-evli binalar var..

Konut fiyatlari Seoul'de % 0.3, Incheon'da % 2.1 ve baskentin diger bölgelerinde düstü, ama diger 13 sehirde fiyatlar artti.

Güney Gyeongsang Eyaleti'nde % 22.9 ile en büyük zam gerçeklesirken, Kuzey Jeolla Eyaleti % 21 ve Ulsan % 19.7 ile arkasindan geliyor.

Ev fiyatlarinin genel olarak ortalamasi % 0.9 - %3.6 arasinda oranla yaklasik 300 milyon won düserken, ortalama % 2.8 -%13.8 arasinda 300 milyon won veya daha az yükseldi.

Housing prices have increased an average of four-point-three percent nationwide compared to two-thousand-eleven, according to a government survey.

The Land Ministry said it had surveyed roughly ten-million-630-thousand households throughout the nation from January one – among those being eight-point-63 million living in apartments, 450-thousand in townhouses and one-point-55 million in multi-household buildings.

Housing costs fell zero-point-three percent in Seoul and two-point-one percent in Incheon as well as other metropolitan areas, but in 13 other cities in the country, costs rose.

South Gyeongsang Province saw the biggest hike at 22-point-nine percent, with North Jeolla Province coming behind at 21 percent and Ulsan at 19-point-seven percent.

Joint housing costing 300-million won or less rose an average of two-point-eight to 13-point-eight percent while those with price tags over 300-million won fell on average between zero-point-nine to three-point-six percent.

Land Minister Quells Worries over Private Management of KTX

Kara Bakani, Kore Ekspres Treninin Özel Yönetimi Hakkindaki Endiseleri Yatistirdi

Kore Kara, Ulastirma ve Denizcilik Isleri Bakani Kwon Do-yeop, ülke çapinda yüksek hizdaki rayli sistem üzerinde tren çalistirmak için özel sirketler arasinda rekabet baslasa bile Kore Ekspres Treni ücretlerinin artmayacagini söyledi.

Kwon, tren bileti ücretlerindeki olasi bir zam hakkinda olan endiseleri yatistirdi.

Kwon, önümüzdeki 15 yil için ücret zamlarinin yillik enflasyon oranindan daha az olarak yüzde 0.5 puaninda devam edecegini de ekledi.

Müteahhitlerin Korail politikasindan daha yüksek maliyete yükseltmeyi yasakladigini ve metronun dokuz hattiyla ilgili ücretlerde son skandal gibi ücretler üzerinden kargasaya gerek olmadigini söyledi.

Kwon, hükümet tarafindan garantiye alinan kâr ve üstü örtülen hiçbir açik olmadigi gibi özel müteahhitlerin seçilmesinde de herhangi bir ayricalik olmadigini söyledi.

Ayrica, Kwon Fransa treni à Grande Vitesse gibi Avrupa'daki tren sistemleri ile benzerlikten söz ederek, çesitli tren sistemlerinin ayni hatta çalisacagi hakkindaki güvenlik endiselerini yatistirdi.

Korean Minister of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Kwon Do-yeop said KTX fares would not be raised even if competition began amongst private companies to run trains on the high-speed rail system nationwide.

Kwon calmed worries over a possible hike in train ticket costs.

Kwon noted that fare hikes would be maintained at zero-point-five percentage points less than the annual inflation rate for the next 15 years.

He added that contractors are forbidden to raise costs higher than Korail policy and that there would be no need for commotion over fares like the recent scandal in costs regarding subway line nine.

Kwon said there were no privileges involved in selecting private contractors as there are no profits guaranteed and no deficits covered by the government.

Also, Kwon quelled worries over safety in several train systems being run on the same track lines, mentioning similarities with European train systems like France's Train à Grande Vitesse.

Gov't Pledges Stable Balance Sheet by 2013

Hükümet, 2013 yilina kadar istikrarli bir bilançoyla toparlanacaklarini ve sonrasinda bunun üzerine artakalan miktara yönelik hedeflerini koruyacaklarini duyurdu.

Duyuru, cumartesi günü, basbakan Lee Myung-bak tarafindan yönetilen 2012'den 2016'nin sonuna kadar ülkenin ekonomik hedeflerini belirlemeye yönelik bir maliye toplantisindan sonra yapildi.

Ayrica, hükümet, borcun gayri safi yurt içi hasilaya oranini iç borcu azaltarak 2015'ten itibaren %30'un asagisinda tutmayi planliyor.

Planlar, vergi muafiyeti yasalari ve ertelenen vergi yükümlülüklerinin bir degerlendirmesinden sonra aktif vergilendirme araciligiyla ek kazanç elde edilmesine yönelik girisimleri desteklemeyi kapsiyor.

Hükümet ayrica, kamu sirketlerinden ve devlet varliklarinin genel yönetiminden hisse satarak vergi harici kazançlarini arttiracak.

Cumartesi günkü toplantinin sonuçlari da, 2013 için bütçe olusturulmasinda ve 2016'ya kadar devlet finans yönetimine yönelik genel planlarda kullanilacak.

The government announced it will recover a stable balance sheet by 2013 and maintain its goals for surplus thereon after.

The announcement was made after a meeting on finance chaired by President Lee Myung-bak on Saturday that set financial goals for the country from 2012 through 2016.

In addition, the government plans to keep its debt-to-GDP ratio below 30 percent from 2015 by cutting government debt.

Plans include to strengthen efforts to obtain additional profits through active taxation after an evaluation of tax exemption laws and deferred taxes.

The government will also increase its non-tax profits by selling stocks from public companies and overall management of its state assets.

The results from Saturday’s meeting will also be used in forming the budget for 2013 and overall plans on state finance management through 2016.

New Suspension Bridge to Link Yeosu and Gwangyang

Yeosu ve Gwangyang'i Baglayacak Yeni Asma Köprü

Yeosu ve Gwangyang limanini baglayacak bir asma köprü insa edildi.

Köprüye, efsanevi 16. yüzyil amirali Yi Sun-shin'in adi verildi. Köprünün 1545 metre uzunlugu da Joseon Hanedanligi amiralinin dogdugu yili simgeliyor.

Bu, Güney Kore'nin kendi teknoloji ve materyalleriyle yalniz olarak yaptigi ilk asma köprü. Güney Kore geçmiste asma köprü insa etmek için Japonya'ya bagliydi.

Asma köprünün insa edilmesindeki önemli teknoloji, köprü ayaklari yerine dev kablolarla köprünün agirliginin tasinmasi.

Yi Sun-shin Köprüsünün kablolari, 40.000 ton agirlik, 8 büyüklügündeki deprem ve saniyede 90 m esen güçlü rüzgarlara dayanabilir.

Köprünün açilisi, Yeosu Sanayi Kompleksinden Gwangyang Limanina ürün naklini 80 dakikadan 10 dakikaya indirecek.

Yi Sun-shin Köprüsü, 2012 Yeosu Fuarinin açilisindan 2 gün önce, 10 Mayista geçici olarak açilacak.

A suspension bridge has been built to link Yeosu and Gwangyang port.

The bridge is named after the legendary 16th-century admiral, Yi Sun-shin. Its length of one-thousand-545 meters also symbolizes the year when the Josen Dynasty admiral was born.

This is the first suspension bridge South Korea has built solely with its own technology and materials. South Korea used to depend on Japan to build suspension bridges in the past.

The key technology in building a suspension bridge is to sustain the weight of the bridge with two giant cables, instead of piers.

The cables of Yi Sun-shin Bridge can withstand the weight of 40-thousand tons, an eight-magnitude earthquake and strong winds blowing 90 meters a second.

The opening of the bridge will shorten the time it takes to transport products from the Yeosu Industrial Complex to Gwangyang port from 80 minutes to ten minutes.

Yi Sun-shin Bridge will temporarily open on May tenth, two days before the beginning of the 2012 Yeosu Expo.

Kore Bankasi nisan için is arastirmasi endeksi (IAE) sonuçlarini yayimladi ve üretimdeki is arastirma endeksi 3. ay için artmaya devam ederek 3 puan ile 84'e yükseldi.

Geçen temmuz ayinda kaydedilen 91'den sonra en yüksek tahmin olan mayis ayi için 5 puan artarak 90'a yükseldi.

IAE ölçümünde 100'ün üstü iyimserlerin kötümserlerden daha fazla oldugunu gösteriyor. Endeks 100'ün altinda olmasina ragmen, olumlu tahminler artiyor.

Üretim asamasinda mayistaki is kosullari için büyük sirketlerin endeks tahmini 7 puan artarak 98'e yükseldi ve küçük firmalarda 4 puan büyüyerek 86'ya çikti.

Ihracatçilar için tahmin endeksi 94'e ve ihracatçi olmayanlarda 87'ye yükseldi.

The corporate business sentiment in South Korea was found to have modestly improved.

The Bank of Korea has released results of its business survey index (BSI) for April and the manufacturing BSI rose three points to 84 this month to continue gains for the third month.

The outlook for May also rose five points to 90 which is the highest since 91 recorded last July.

A BSI reading over 100 means optimists outnumber pessimists. Though the index is still below 100, positive forecasts are on the rise.

In manufacturing, the index for large companies' outlook on business conditions in May jumped seven points to 98 and that of small firms grew four points to 86.

The outlook index for exporters rose to 94 and nonexporters to 87.

South Korea's government said Tuesday it plans to use tax breaks and other incentives to fuel private investment vital for sustainable growth and job creation.

In a meeting of economic policymakers, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance said it will revamp tax law so more benefits can be given to both local and overseas companies that seek business opportunities in the country.

South Korea's beef consumption has not been affected by the latest mad cow case in the United States, government data showed Tuesday, although demand for U.S. beef has plummeted.

The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said sales of beef at the country's eight largest retailers, including Lottemart, Homeplus and Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, rose 3.3 percent from last Tuesday through Thursday compared to a week earlier.
