Zamanın birinde, bir erkek kardeş ile bir kız kardeş genç yaşta ailelerini kaybettikleri için yalnız başlarına yaşamaya başladılar. Evlilik çağına geldikleri zaman bile evlenemediler. Bu yüzden ikisi de tarım yaparak geçinmeye çalışıyordu. Bir yaz günü, nehrin karşısındaki tarlaya gittiler. Onlar çalışırken aniden yağmur başladı ve nehri yükseltti. Yağmurdan ıslanmadan nehri geçebildiler ama eve dönerken, ıslanan kıyafetlerini çıkarmak zorunda kaldılar. Erkek kardeş, kız kardeşinin çıplak vücudunu gördüğü için kendinden utandı ve oracıkta intihar etti. Kız kardeşi: “Bana söyleyebilirdin. Neden söylemedin?” diye inledi.
Çok geçmeden o da orada öldü. O zamandan beri insanlar bu nehre “Dalraegang” dediler. Korece’de, “bir şey istemek” demektir.

Dalraegang
Once upon a time, a brother and a sister came to live alone when their parents passed away when they were still young. Even when they came of age, they could not get married, and so they lived together earning their lives by farming. One summer, they went to a field across the river. While they were working, it started to rain suddenly and the river rose high. They could cross the river without getting wet before the rain, but on their way back home they had to take off their clothes not to get wet. The brother, who in spite of himself felt aroused by his sister's naked body, was so embarrassed that when they reached the river bank he cut his penis off with the sickle he was carrying and died on the spot. At this sight, the sister wailed,
"You could have asked me. Why didn't you?"
Soon after, she died on the spot where the brother died. Since then, people call this river 'Dalraegang'. In Korean, Dalraeda means 'ask for something.'
