Okul etraftaki her ülkeden öğrenci almaktadır.
Öğrenciler yeteneklerine göre Daewon'a girebilirler. Bu sınavlar doğrultusunda Daewon'a öğrenci alınır.
Daewon ortaokullardan en fazla %5 civarında öğrenci alır.

English:
Daewon Foreign Language High Schoollocated in Seoul, is a prestigious high school in South Korea. The private, coeducational, college preparatory school was founded in 1983 with the stated goal of nurturing future global leaders. Daewon is the second oldest of the 31 foreign language high schools in Korea, after only Daeil Foreign Language High School. All Daewon students choose one language among Chinese, French, Japanese, Spanish, or German to study during their three years at Daewon. Korean and English are mandatory subjects, regardless of which focus language students choose when entering the school.
While the school was originally founded to focus on foreign language education, it has over time come to serve more as a preparatory school for selective Korean and US universities. The school's primary language of instruction is Korean.
Like most schools in Korea, Daewon starts its school year in March, starts its second semester in September, and ends the school year in February.
Academics
In addition to the classes required by the Korean Ministry of Education, students who enroll in the Global Leadership Program (formerly Study Abroad Program) take additional college-prep classes that are intended to make them perfect machines for US college admissions. As is the case at most Korean high schools, students must study approximately fourteen subjects each year that meet from one to three hours per week. Grades in most classes are determined by a midterm and a final exam. An average Daewonian runs through the daily schedule of studying from 8:00 a.m. to 10:10 p.m., which is about 14hours a day.
Extracurricular activities
Like most Korean high schools, Daewon has no varsity sports teams, but there are more than 30 extracurricular activities available to students. All students are required to join one extracurricular club, and students in the GLP who are preparing to attend a university abroad may join two to four additional clubs, including some American-style club activities such as debate , Model UN , and Model Congress that are unavailable to non-GLP students.
Admissions
The school receives applications from around the country. Students can gain admission to Daewon Foreign Language High School by demonstrating ability in a variety of areas, but the most common way students are accepted is through Daewon's own admissions test, which includes written exams and an interview. In its promotional material, Daewon claims to draw students from the top 5% of Korean middle schools
