Russian University To Open Course On Masterpieces Of S. Korean Renowned Novelist

Rus Üniversitesi, G. Koreli Ünlü Romancının şaheserlerine Ders Açmayı Planladı

Güney Koreli vakfı saygıdeğer Park perşembe günü Rus üniversitelerinden biri olan Petersburg Devlet Üniversitesi'nin Güney Koreli ünlü bir romancı Park Kyung-ni'nin başyapıtlarını 2017 akademik yılında, yazarın edebi mirasını söyledi.

Toji Kültür Vakfı; Rus okulunun başkanı Nikolai Kropachev'in, Güney Kore romancılarına (1926-2008) yönelik dersi Doğu ve Afrika çalışmalarına ağırlık veren lisans öğrencileri ve mezunları için kurma kararının temelini verdiğini söyledi. Vakıf, Güney Kore'nin kuzeydoğusunda bulunan Gangwon eyaletindeki Wonju kentinde bulunuyor.

Kropachev; 2 Aralık'ta vakfın başkanı Kim Young-joo'ya gönderdiği mektupta, Park'ın edebi mirasının akademik alana taşınmasının okulun Kore edebiyat geleneği üzerine yaptığı araştırmaların temel taşı olmasını umduğunu söyledi.

Mektubunda "Rusya ile Kore arasındaki kültürel temasın yaygınlaşmasına ve iki ülkenin geleneklerine ve çağdaş edebiyatın dikkatinin artmasına neden olacağından içtenlikle rica ediyorum." dedi.

Üniversitenin doğu eğitimini, 20 yıl önce kolej kurulmasından bu yana Park'taki kursu ilk kez başlattığını belirledi.

Düşünülen ders için üniversitenin Doğu Üniversitesi kolejinden "Toji" (Land) ve "Kimyakgukui Ttaldeul" (Papaz Kızları) adlı kitabı her ikisi de Rusça olarak önemli ders materyalleri olarak kullanmaları bekleniyor.

1955'te edebi denemesini yapan Park, 19. yüzyılın sonlarından 1945'e kadar, Kore Yarımdası'nın 36 yıllık Japon sömürge yönetiminin sona erdiği çalkantılı tarihini ve zorluklarını izleyen "Toji"si ile ünlüdür. Birkaç nesil boyunca kırsal alanda zengin bir ailenin yükselişini ve düşüşünü tasvir ediyor.

St. Petersburg State University, one of the top Russian universities, will open a course on the masterpieces of Park Kyung-ni, a renowned South Korean novelist, in the 2017 academic year to spread knowledge of the late writer's literary heritage, a South Korean foundation revering Park said Thursday.

The Toji Cultural Foundation said the Russian school's president, Nikolai Kropachev, has notified the foundation of its decision to install the course, devoted to the South Korean novelist (1926-2008), for its undergraduates and graduates majoring in Oriental and African studies. The foundation is located in Wonju, a city in South Korea's northeast province of Gangwon.

Kropachev said in a Dec. 2 letter addressed to the foundation's head Kim Young-joo that he hopes "the introduction of Park's literary heritage to the academic field will become the cornerstone of the school's research on the tradition of the Korean literature.

"I sincerely hope that it will lead to the expansion of cultural contact between Russia and Korea, and the heightened attention to the two countries' traditions and contemporary literature," he said in the letter.

It marks the first time for the university's college of Oriental studies to set up the course on Park since the establishment of the college 20 years ago.

For the envisioned course, the university's college of Oriental studies is expected to use the first volume of "Toji" (Land) and "Kimyakgukui Ttaldeul" (The Daughters of Pharmacist Kim), both written in Russian, as major teaching materials.

Park, who made his literary debut in 1955, is well known for "Toji," which follows the turbulent history and hardships of the Korean people from the late 19th century to 1945, when the 36-year Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula ended, by depicting the rise and fall of a wealthy family in a rural area over several generations.

Russian University to Open Class on Novelist Park Kyong-ni

Rus Üniversitesi Roman Yazarı Park Kyong-ni Üzerine Bir Ders Açacak

Bir Rus Üniversitesi geç tanınmış Güney Koreli roman yazarı Park Kyong-ni'nin eserlerini incelemek için yeni bir ders açacak.

Toji Kültür Vakfı çarşamba günü yaptığı açıklamada, Saint Petersburg Eyalet Üniversitesi'nde, gelecek okul döneminde, Asya ve Afrika çalışmaları bölümlerinde okuyan lisans ve lisansüstü öğrenciler için dersin başlayacağını açıkladı.

Üniversite rektörü Nikolay Kropachev, derneği mektupla bilgilendirerek, Güney Koreli yazarlar tarafından bırakılan yaratıcı edebi mirasları kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alacağını bildirdi.


Rektör, yeni dersin, Kore edebiyatı araştırmalarını ve Rusya'daki çalışmaları teşvik etmeye yardımcı olmasını bekliyor.

A Russian university will open a class studying literary works by the late prominent South Korean novelist Park Kyong-ni.

The Toji Cultural Foundation said on Wednesday that Saint Petersburg State University will run the class starting in the new school term next year for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Asian and African studies.

Nikolay Kropachev, the university's rector, informed the foundation of the decision in a letter early this month, explaining that the class will comprehensively tackle creative literary legacies left by the South Korean writer.

He expected that the class will help promote research of Korean literature and studies in Russia.

Italian Cultural Heritage Restored Using Hanji

İtalyan Kültür Mirası Hanji Kullanılarak Onarıldı

Yaklaşık 800 yıl önce Saint Francis'in elinden çıkan bir dua olan "Chartula", Kore geleneksel kağıdı "hanji" kullanılarak onarıldıktan sonra 15 Aralık 2016'da Roma'da Arşiv ve Kütüphane Mirasının Restorasyonu ve Korunması Merkez Enstitüsü'nde açığa çıkarıldı. Enstitü, beş kültür mirasını hanji kullanarak eski haline getirdiklerini söyledi.

Home of composer of Korea's national anthem

Kore Milli Marşının Bestecisinin Evi

Kore ulusal marşının bestecisi Ahn Ik-tae'nin Ispanya'daki Majorca Adası'nın merkezi Palma'da bulunan evi yenileme sonrası 15 Aralık'ta, anıt salonu olarak yeniden açıldı. 1965 yılında vefat eden Ahn, bu evde hayatının son yıllarını geçirdi. Bu yıl doğumunun 110.yıldönümü.

Korean Language Studies Increasingly Popular In India

Hindistan'da Giderek Daha Popüler Olan Kore Dili Çalışmaları

Hindistan yetkilileri pazartesi günü insanların sayısının giderek arttığı Hindistan'da kendilerini iş bulmaya veya Doğu Asya ülkesinde daha fazla araştırma yapmak için Korece eğitimi görülüyor.

Yeni Delhi'deki Kore Kültür Merkezi'ne göre, bu yılın her yarısında Kral Sejong Enstitüsünde Kore dili derslerine ortalama 203 öğrenci kaydoldu. 2013 yılında sınıflar ilk açıldığında her dönem ortalama 55 öğrenci vardı.

Kore'nin denizaşırı ülkelerinde eğitim veren enstitü, Chennai ve Patna'da yeni şubeler açarak toplam sayısını üçe çıkardı.

Kore pop kültürünün küresel popülaritesine değinerek merkez şefi Kim Geum-pyeong "Yeni Delhi'de ve çevredeki sermaye bölgesinde ve 'hallyu'nun etkisinin güçlü olduğu kuzeydoğu kesiminde giderek daha fazla üniversitede Korece kursu açılıyor ve ülke genelinde dil eğitimine yönelik artan bir eğilim var" dedi. Yeni Delhi şubesi tarafından yakın tarihte yapılan bir araştırmada, Korece okuyan Hintlilerin yüzde 37'si iş bulmak için Korece'yi kullanmayı umduğunu söylerken yüzde 33'ü Güney Kore'de çalışmayı daha fazla umduklarını belirtti. Diğer katılımcılar, Kore kültürüne olan ilgiden dolayı motive olduklarını söyledi.

Son iki yılda Yeni Delhi Enstitüsünde eğitim gören 18 kişi, Hindistan'daki seyahat acentelerin yanı sıra Samsung Electronics, E.Land ve Oracle gibi Güney Koreli firmalar tarafından işe alındı. A growing number of people in India are studying Korean to help themselves find jobs or pursue further studies in the East Asian country, officials here said Monday.

According to the Korean Cultural Center in New Delhi, an average of 203 students signed up for Korean language classes at its King Sejong Institute during every semester of this year. When the classes first opened in 2013, there were an average of 55 students per semester.

The institute, a state-run organization that teaches Korean overseas, has also opened new branches in Chennai and Patna, bringing their total number to three.

"In New Delhi and the surrounding capital area, as well as in the northeast where the influence of 'hallyu' is strong, more and more universities are opening courses in Korean and there is a growing trend toward studying the language across the country," said Kim Geum-pyeong, the center chief, referring to the global popularity of Korean pop culture. "I think this is due not only to cultural factors, such as the spread of K-pop and hallyu, but also Korean businesses' interest in the Indian market, which has fed increased demand for Korean in terms of jobs and practical reasons."

In a study recently conducted by the New Delhi branch, 37 percent of Indians studying Korean said they hope to use it to find a job, while 33 percent said they hope to study further in South Korea. The other respondents said they were motivated by an interest in Korean culture.

In the past two years, 18 people who studied at the New Delhi institute were hired by South Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics, E.Land and Oracle, as well as by Indian travel agencies. Eleven others went on to study Korean at an Indian university or received Korean government scholarships to study in South Korea.

Indian universities have also expanded their courses in Korean. Last year, Banaras Hindu University, which is located in the northeastern city of Varanasi, opened a class in the language, raising the number of Indian universities teaching Korean to 19.

In March, New Delhi's Indira Gandhi National Open University, which runs courses for 3 million students via TV broadcasts, is set to launch a course in Korean and Korea studies.

Prosecutors Say 'Beautiful Woman' is Authentic

Savcılık 'Beautiful Woman' Orijinal Olduğunu Söyledi

Savcılar, sanatçının birbirine uyan iddialarının sahte olmasına rağmen ölen ressam Chun Kyung-ja'nın tartışmalı tablosunun orijinal bir eser olduğunu söyledi.

"Beautiful Woman" resmi 1991 yılından beri sahtecilik tartışmasının merkezinde oldu.

Pazartesi günü Seoul Merkez Bölge Savcılık Ofisi Chun'un kızı olan Kim Jeong-hee'nin işi sahibi Direktör Bartomeu Mari Ribas'ın da aralarında yer aldığı Ulusal Modern Çağdaş ve Çağdaş Sanat Müzesi'nde (MMCA) görev yapan beş yetkiliye yaptığı suçlamaları reddetti.

Kim, sahte olmasına rağmen beş kişinin resmin orijinal olduğunu iddia ettiğini belirtti.

Savcılık, kızılötesi ışık, bilgisayarlı görüntüleme analizi ve DNA analizi de dahil olmak üzere son teknolojik teknikler kullanarak çalışmaları ayrıntılı bir şekilde inceledikten sonra resmin orijinal olduğuna karar verdi.

Savcılık, Diğer eserlerinde görülen Chun'un benzersiz özelliklerinin resimde sürekli bulunduğunu söyledi.

Prosecutors say a controversial painting by late artist Chun Kyung-ja is an authentic work, despite consistent claims by the artist that it was a fake.

The painting, “Beautiful Woman,” has been at the center of a forgery debate since 1991.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on Monday dismissed the charges brought by Kim Jeong-hee, Chun’s daughter, against five officials at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(MMCA), including Director Bartomeu Mari Ribas, who owns the work.

Kim argued that the five people claimed the painting is authentic although it is a fake.

The prosecution concluded that the painting is authentic after thoroughly examining the work using state-of-the-art techniques, including infrared light, computerized imaging analysis and DNA analysis.

It said that Chun’s unique characteristics, seen in her other works, were consistently found in the painting.

Vatanseverler ve Gaziler İşleri Bakanlığı, Hyun'un eski okulu olan Yonsei Üniversitesi'nin tıp okulunda bir defaya mahsus Yonsei Foundation Severance Building'in önündeki plazada pazartesi günü bir tören düzenlendiğini söyledi.

Bakanlık, Deniz Piyadeleri karargahı ve Yonsei Üniversitesi Sağlık Sistemi'nde 1950'deki Hungnam Tahliyesi'nde oynadığı kilit roller için "Kore'nin Schindler'ı" olarak adlandırılan Hyun'u anmak için heykeli dikmek için el ele verdi.

Kasım 1950'de Kore Savaşı'na katılan Çin bölüklerinden sonra savaş hazırlığında olan BM Kuvvetleri 22 ile 24 Aralık arasında Kuzey'in doğu sahili üzerinde bulunan Hungnam limanı boyunca tahliye için baskı yaptı.

Aynı zamanda bir tercüman gibi hizmet eden Hyun, SS Meredith Zaferi'nde 16 bin kargo uçağı içinde 98 bin mültecinin tahliyesi için ABD X Corps'un komutanı General Edward Almand'a aktif bir şekilde baskı yaptı.

A statute of Dr. Hyun Bong-hak, who helped save the lives of more than 90-thousand refugees during the Korean War, has been erected in Seoul.
 
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said an unveiling ceremony was held Monday at the plaza in front of Yonsei Foundation Severance Building where Hyun’s old school, Yonsei University’s medical school, had once stood.

The ministry, Marine Corps headquarters and the Yonsei University Health System joined hands to erect the statue to remember Hyun who is called "Korea's Schindler" for the key roles he played in the 1950 Hungnam Evacuation. 
 
After Chinese troops joined the Korean War in November 1950, the embattled UN forces were forced to evacuate through the port of Hungnam on the North's east coast between December 22nd and 24th.
 
Hyun, who served as an interpreter at the time, actively persuaded General Edward Almond, commander of the U.S. X Corps, to evacuate some 98-thousand refugees, including 14-thousand aboard the SS Meredith Victory, a U.S. cargo freighter.
