Öğrenciler 15 Mayıs 2015 tarihinde Seoul'de, Joseon Hanedanlığı döneminde, 15. yüzyılda, Kore alfabesi "hangeul" bulan Kral Sejong'un 618. doğum yıldönümünü kutlamak için yapılan bir etkinlik sırasında geleneksel kraliyet kıyafetleri giymiş insanlara doğum günü pastası sunduktan sonra önlerinde eğildiler.

İktidardaki Saenuri Partisi Başkanı Kim Moo Sung (solda), ana muhalefet partisi Yeni Demokrasi Siyaset İttifakı Başkanı Moon Jae In ile, 18 Mayıs 2015 tarihinde, güneybatı kenti Gwangju'da gerçekleşen demokrasi hareketinin 35. yıldönümünü kutlamak için ulusal mezarlıkta düzenlenen törende el sıkıştılar. Mayıs 1980'de Orgeneral Chun Doo Hwan'dan sonra askeri cuntaya karşı protesto gösterileri sırasında öldürülen demokrasi yanlısı yüzlerce savaşçı 18 Mayıs Ulusal Mezarlığı'da sonsuzluğa uğurlanmıştır.

The exhibition ends Oct. 31.

Memorial of Korean Scholar in China

Çin'de Koreli Bilim Adamının Anıtı

27 Mayıs 2015 tarihinde Gunsan Belediyesi tarafından yayınlanan fotoğrafta, Kore'nin önemli bilgini Choe Chi Won'un Çin'in Jiangsu Eyaleti Yangzhou Şehri'ndeki anıt salonda bulunan heykeli görülüyor. Choe ayrıca, Birleşik Silla dönemindeki (668-935)eğitiminin sonlarına doğru edebi adı Goun (Lonely Cloud) olarak bilinen filozof ve şair oldu, Silla'ya dönmeden önce Çin'in Tang'da yüksek devlet memuriyetine yükseldi, zordaki hükümetin reform girişimlerini yaptı. Güney Koreli ve Çinli bilginler Gunsan Modern Tarih Müzesi'nde 29 mayıs'ta güneybatı kenti Gunsan'da hayatını ve başarılarını tartışmak için bir seminere katılacak.

The photo, provided on May 27, 2015, by the Gunsan municipal government, shows a statue of Korean historic scholar Choe Chi-won in a memorial hall in Yangzhou, China's Jiangsu Province. Choe, also known by the literary name Goun (Lonely Cloud), was a philosopher and poet of the late Unified Silla period (668-935) who studied and rose to high office in Tang China before returning to Silla, where he made attempts to reform the declining government. South Korean and Chinese scholars will take part in a seminar at Gunsan Modern History Museum in the southwestern city of Gunsan on May 29 to discuss his life and accomplishments.
