Yeosu Expo Digital Gallery Completed

Yeosu Fuari Dijital Galerisi Tamamlandi

415 metre uzunlugundaki ve 21 metre genisligindeki dijital galeri, 23 Nisan 2012'de, yaklasan 2012 Yeosu Fuarinin düzenlenecegi yerde tamamlandi. Fuar, 12 Mayis ile 12 Agustos tarihleri arasinda "Yasayan Okyanus ve Sahil." temasi basligi altinda Seoul'un 455 kilometre güneyinde bulunan, Güney Kore'nin güneyi liman kentlerinden Yeosu'da gerçeklestirilecek. Etkinlige yüzden fazla ülkenin katilmasi bekleniyor.

This 415-meter-long and 21-meter-wide digital gallery was completed at the venue for the upcoming 2012 Yeosu Expo on April 23, 2012. The Expo will take place in South Korea's southern port city of Yeosu, 455 kilometers south of Seoul, from May 12 through Aug. 12 under the theme, "The Living Ocean and Coast." More than 100 nations are expected to participate.

Seoul Baekje Museum To Open Next Week

Seoul Baekje Müzesi Gelecek Hafta Açilacak

Sehrin çarsamba günü bildirdigine göre, Eski Baekje Hanedanliginin (M.Ö.18-M.S.668) tarih ve kültürünü konu edinen Seoul'un yeni müzesi, pazartesi günü güney Seoul, Songpa-gu'daki Olimpiyat Parkinda halka açilacak.

Seoul Baekje Müzesi, yalnizca Baekje Hanedanligindan degil, ayni zamanda Goguryeo, Silla ve Han Nehri havzasini isgal eden diger kralliklardan da 42,311 parçalik eser sunacak. Baskentlerini Seoul'un 162 km güneyindeki Chungcheong Eyaleti, Gongju'ya tasidiklari M.S. 475'e kadar yaklasik 500 yildir Baekje Hanedanliginin baskenti Seoul'du.

Seoul's new museum featuring the history and culture of the ancient Baekje Kingdom (18 BC-668 AD) will open to the public at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, southern Seoul, on Monday, the city announced Wednesday.

The Seoul Baekje Museum will display a collection of 42,311 relics not only from the Baekje Kingdom but also from the Goguryeo, Silla and other kingdoms that occupied the Han River basin. Seoul was the capital of the Baekje Dynasty for about 500 years until 475 AD, when it moved its capital to Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, 162 kilometers south of Seoul.

S. Korea Marks Legendary Hero's Birthday

G. Kore'de Efsanevi Kahramanin Dogum Günü

26 Nisan 2012 günü, Kore'nin tarihi savas kahramani General Yi Sun-shin'in yaklasan 467. dogum günü için düzenlenen tören sirasinda, "geobukseon" (kaplumbaga gemi) modelleri merkez Seoul'den geçen Cheonggye Akarsuyunda yüzüyor. Dünyanin ilk zirhli savas gemisi geobukseon'in mucidi, 16. yüzyilin sonlarinda saldiridaki Japon donanmasina karsi üst üste 23 deniz zaferi kazandi. Yi'nin dogum günü 28 Nisan'da.

The inventor of the geobukseon, the world's first armored warship, won 23 naval battles in a row against the invading Japanese navy in the late 16th century. Yi's birthday falls on April 28.

What a timely subject. With the ongoing popularity of K-pop music, fans or even just non-fans might have wondered once where the roots of it all came from.

The author, who has covered popular Korean music for various media outlets, sees the foundation from 1970s Korean music. There were such unexpected gifted musicians as Han Dae-soo, a singer-songwriter who introduced folk music to the public, Shin Joong-hyun, also a singer-song writer and a rock guitarist and Sanwoolim, a trio of brothers who popularized their version of rock music.

The music and the work these musicians produced gave way to slew of popular singers in 1980s including legendary Cho Yong-pil, and Korea’s Madonna Kim Wan-seon. The ‘80s musicians pass the baton onto Shin Seung-hoon and Seo Taiji and the Boys in the 1990s and BoA and TVXQ in the 2000s.

The writer notes how fan culture first sprouted with the 1970s musicians, that Kim Wan-seon was one of the first “idol” stars who spent many years preparing before her debut, a career path taken by so many of present stars including BoA and TVQ.

Two Korean films won Audience Award at Far East Film Festival

Iki Kore Filmi Uzakdogu Film Festivali'nde Izleyici Ödülünü Kazandi

Güney Kore filmi olan "Silenced" ve "The Front Line", Italya'daki Udine'de cumartesi günü biten 14. Udine Uzakdogu Film Festivali'nde Izleyici Ödülünü kazandi.

Festivalin resmi ana sayfasina göre, Hwang Dong-hyuk tarafindan yönetilen "Silenced" ve Jang Hun tarafindan yönetilen "The Front Line", sirasiyla 4.40 ve 4.16 puan ile ödülleri kazandi. Çin filmi "One Million Above" 4.20 puan ile ödül kazandi.

South Korean films "Silenced" and "The Front Line" won Audience Awards at the 14th Udine Far East Film Festival which closed Saturday in Udine, Italy.

According to the official homepage of the festival, "Silenced" directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk and "The Front Line" directed by Jang Hun won awards with scores of 4.40 and 4.16 points, respectively. China's "One Million Above" won the same honor with 4.20 points.

Exhibition on Turkish Civilization

Türk Medeniyeti Üzerine Sergi

Türkiye Kültürel Miras ve Müzeler Genel Müdürü Osman Murat Suslu, "Istanbul'daki Imparatorlar" baslikli Türk medeniyeti üzerine özel bir serginin açilisi için 30 Nisan 2012'de Seoul'de Kore Ulusal Müzesinde bir tören sirasinda konusma yapti. Sergi bir sonraki gün halka açilacak ve 2 Eylül'e kadar açik kalacak.
