Old Seoul Station to House Culture, Art Exhibits

Eski Seoul Istasyonu Kültür, Sanat Sergilerine Ev Sahipligi Yapacak

Hükümet, kültür ve sanat sergilerine ev sahipligi yapmasi için eski Seoul Istasyonu'nu yeniledi.

Kültür Bakanligi, yeni Seoul Istasyonu'nun açilisini takiben yaklasik yedi yildir kullanilmamasinin ardindan binayi geçen agustos ayinda yeniden yapilandirmaya baslamisti.

"Seoul Kültür Istasyonu 284" olarak adlandirilan kültür ve sanat tesisleri, Kültür Bakanligi tarafindan yönetilecek ve Kore El Sanatlari ve Tasarim Vakfi tarafindan isletilecek.

15 Haziran tarihinde eski istasyonda geçmisini anlatan bir sergi düzenlenecek.

The government has renovated the old Seoul Station to house culture and art exhibits.

The Culture Ministry began remodeling the building last August after it sat unused for roughly seven years following the opening on the new Seoul Station.

Dubbed "The Culture Station Seoul 284," the cultural and art facilities will be managed by the Culture Ministry and operated by the Korea Craft and Design Foundation.

An exhibition will be held on June 15th at the old station explaining its history.

Paris'te Kore Yemegi Resepsiyonu

Ekonomik Isbirligi ve Kalkinma Örgütü (EIKÖ)’nün Güney Kore Elçisi Hur Kyung-wook 2 Nisan 2012'de Paris’te 40 ülkenin turizm yetkilileriyle EIKÖ’nün yurtdisi temsilcileri için düzenlenen resepsiyonda konusma yapti. Güney Kore delegasyonu ve Kore Devlet Vakfi tarafindan yapilan resepsiyonda ‘Hansik’ diye bilinen Kore geleneksel yemeginin tanitimi yapildi.

Dokdo Exhibition Opens in Daejeon

Dokdo Sergisi Daejeon'da Açildi

Egitim, Bilim ve Teknoloji Bakanligi ve Kuzeydogu Asya Tarih Vakfi sali günü Daejeon'daki Ulusal Bilim Müzesi'ndeki Dokdo adaciklarinda sergi açti.

Sergi, Japon lise tarih ders kitaplarinin çarpitmasi ve Dokdo üzerinde Japonya'nin son toprak taleplerine karsi kuruldu.

Sergilemede, Dokdo'nun Kore'ye ait olduguna dair tarihi belgeler ve adaciklar üzerinde bulunan hayvan ve bitki örnekleri var.

Sergi 9 Aralik'a kadar gezecek ve Daejeon, Jeju, Yeosu ve Daegu'da sergilenecek.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and the Northeast Asian History Foundation have opened an exhibition on the Dokdo islets at the National Science Museum in Daejeon on Tuesday.

The exhibition was organized to counter Japan’s recent territorial claims over Dokdo and distortion of history in Japanese high school textbooks.

On display are historic documents that show Dokdo belonging to Korea as well as specimens of animals and plants found on the islets.

The exhibition will be on tour until December 9th and will be shown in Daejeon, Jeju, Yeosu and Daegu.

Tidying Up Grave of Old Dynasty's King

Eski Hanedanlik Kralinin Mezarinin Düzenlenmesi

Isçiler, Hansik tatili veya kisgündönümünden sonra 105. gün için düzenlemeler yapmak üzere 5 Nisan 2012'de Seoul'un dogusunda Guri sehrinde Joseon Hanedanligi (1392-1910)'nin kurucusu Kral Taejo'nun mezarinin üzerindeki otlari kesiyorlar. O gün çogu Koreli atalarina tapmak için tören düzenleyecek ve temizlemek için atalarinin mezarlarini ziyaret edecek.

Changwon belediye idaresi tarafindan yayinlanan bu fotografta askeri bando 8 Nisan 2012 tarihinde Güney Kore'nin güneydogu kiyisindaki Jinhae liman sehrinde düzenlenen donanma limani festivalinde gösteri yapiyor. Kiraz çiçeklerinin açisini kutlayan festivale katilmak için pek çok tatilci sehre yöneldi. 10 günlük senlik 1 Nisan'da soguk havalardan dolayi kiraz çiçekleri açmadan basladi. Jinhae, Joseon döneminden beri güney kiyisindaki önemli bir deniz üssüdür.

Korea Foundation offers Nordic design exhibition, spring concert on Norway

Korea Foundation, Norveç'te Iskandinav Tasarim Sergisi ve Bahar Konseri Düzenledi

Kuzey Avrupa tasarimlarini tanitan sergi 'Iskandinav Günü-Günlük Hayatta Iskandinav Tasarimi' adiyla Korea Foundation'un Kültür merkezi tarafindan Seoul'deki galerisinde düzenlendi.

5 Mayis'a kadar sürecek olan sergide Danimarka, Finlandiya, Norveç ve Isveç'te çalisan 10 tasarimci, modern ressam ve sanatçinin Kuzey Avrupa'nin günlük hayatini gösteren çalismalari halka sunuldu.

An exhibition featuring designs of Northern Europe called the "Nordic Day-Nordic design in everyday life" is being held by the Korea Foundation Cultural Center at its Gallery in Seoul.

The exhibition shows the works of 10 designers, modern artists and craft artists working in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to examine the meaning of everyday life in Northern Europe until May 5.

Yeouido Spring Flower Festival to Open Friday

Cuma Günü Yeouido Ilkbahar Çiçek Festivali Açilacak

Seoul, Yeouido'da Sekizinci Hangang Yeouido Ilkbahar Çiçek Festivali, cuma günü bes günlügüne açilacak.

Seoul Metropolitan Yönetimi, sehir içi otobüslerin çalismasini cumadan itibaren üç günlügüne gece 01:20'ye kadar uzatacagini söyledi ve önümüzdeki cumadan itibaren üç gün boyunca büyük kalabaligin ilkbahar çiçeklerini görmesi için Yeouido'yu ziyaret etmesi bekleniyor.

28 güzergahdaki sehir içi otobüsleri, festival nedeniyle daha sonra eskisi gibi çalisacak.

The Eighth Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival will open in Yeouido, Seoul on Friday for five days.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it will extend the operation of city buses to 1:20 a.m. for three days from Friday and for another three days from next Friday as large crowds are expected to visit Yeouido to see the spring flowers.

City buses on 28 routes will run later than usual due to the festival.

Kye Kim; Bookhouse: 160 pp., 28,000 won

Kye Kim, a Michigan-based Korean-American food columnist, has published a cookbook on simple one-course meals.

The recipes are in English and Korean, with mouthwatering photos of dishes from “bulgogi” rolls to tofu kimchi “bibimbap.”

Kim’s principle in cooking is being faithful to the basics. “I use high quality ingredients and cook with minimum seasoning to stay true to the original flavor of the ingredients,” she said.

The new book offers simple yet tasty dishes using ingredients at hand such as beef, chicken, seafood, noodles and rice. It also has a section on vegetarian food, adding more diversity.

The most useful part is the sauce section, which adds flavor to dishes with ease.

“If you prep your vegetables, proteins and sauces over the weekend, you can use these ingredients however you wish during the week and still have a delicious, home-cooked meal in a very short amount of time,” Kim says.
