Commemoration to be Held for Late Artist Paik Nam-june

Son Sanatçı Paik Nam-june İçin Anma Töreni Düzenlenecek

2006 yılında aramızdan ayrılan, son video sanatçısı Paik Nam-june’nin çalışmaları, 80. doğum günü anısına, 20 Temmuzda lazerler kullanaılarak bir göl üzerinde yansıtılacak.

Kore ulusal bayrağının ve Olimpiyatların sembolü olan ve parlak renkler ile iki üç boyutlu görüntülerden oluşan Paik’in başyapıtı, göl ve gökyüzü arasındaki bir suda kağıt üzerine yansıtılacak.

Anma töreninde doğa üzerine görüntüler yansıtılması ile video yerine kağıt kullanma bekleyişi sürüyor.

Lazer sanatı ile birlikte sporun dinamizmini ve Kore’nin geleneksel ruhunu içeren ve Baekje döneminde yapılan “Megatron,” dijital teknoloji ile aynı gün sergilenecektir.

Son sanatçı ölümüne kadar daima yeni bir şeyler denedi ve onun ruhu çalışmaları ile bir kez daha canlandırılmış olacak.

The work of late video artist Paik Nam-june, who passed away in 2006, will be displayed on a lake using lasers on July 20th to commemorate his 80th birthday.

Paik's masterpiece, comprising two- and three-dimensional images and bright colors of the symbol of the Olympics and the Korean national flag, will be projected on a sheet of water between the lake and the sky.

The commemoration takes the late artist’s anticipation of video replacing paper a step further, by projecting images upon nature.

Along with the laser art, the “Megatron,” featuring the dynamism of sports and Korea’s traditional spirit including a crown made during the Baekje era through digital technology, is also being showcased the same day.

The late artists always tried something new until the day he died, and his spirit will be enlivened through his work once again.

Asiana Int'l Short Film Festival Accepting Entries Through July 31

Asiana Uluslararası Kısa Film Festivali 31 Temmuz’dan İtibaren Başvuruları Kabul Edecek

Festival organizatörleri, ülkenin iki büyük havayolu şirketinin ev sahipliği ile yapılan, Güney Kore’nin en büyük uluslar arası kısa film yarışması, Asiana Uluslararası Kısa Film Festivali’nin, 31 Temmuzdan itibaren uluslar arası yarışma için başvuruları kabul edeceğini söyledi.

Ocak 2011’den sonra üretilen en fazla 30 dakika uzunluğa sahip her türlü kısa film, 10. AISFF için uygundur.

The Asiana International Short Film Festival, South Korea's largest international short film contest hosted by one of the country's two major airlines, is accepting applications for its international competition through July 31, festival organizers said Friday.

All kinds of short films produced after January 2011 with a maximum length of 30 minutes are eligible for the 10th AISFF.

'Byungsinchum' Dancer Dies

“Byungsinchum” Dansçısı Vefat Etti

Bu Güney Kore’nin 322 km. güneyinde yer alan Yoenggwang’daki Gong Ok-jin’in cenaze evinden bir portre. Gong, 1998 yılında bir inmeden sonra sağlığı bozulan ve günün erken saatlerinde vefat eden, efsanevi geleneksel solo sanatçısıdır. Engelli olduğunu göstererek, 81 yaşında Byungsinchum ya da Cripple Dans’ı ortaya çıkaran olarak bilinmektedir.

This is a portrait of Gong Ok-jin installed at a funeral home in Yeonggwang, 322 km south of Seoul. Gong was a legendary traditional solo folk dancer, who passed away earlier in the day, bringing to a close years of ill-health after a stroke in 1998. The 81-year-old was best known for creating "Byunsinchum," or the "Cripple Dance," satirizing nobility by depicting them as handicapped.

Yabancı Kore Savaşı Gazileri Torunları Güney Kore’ye Davet Edildi


1950-1953 Kore Savaşı sırasında Birleşmiş Milletler bayrağı altında Kuzey Kore'nin istilasına karşı Güney Kore için savaşan 16 ülkeden gelen 147 gençten oluşan bir grup 9 Temmuz 2012 tarihinde Seoul Ulusal Mezarlığı önünde poz verdiler. Seoul Hükümeti bir hafta sürecek olan ve 2009 yılında başlatılan ve her yıl düzenlenen "Gençlik için Barış Kampı"nda yabancı Kore Savaşı gazileri torunları için ev sahipliği yapacak.

Ancient royal books returned from
France to be translated in Korean

Eski Kraliyet Kitapları Korece'den Tercüme Edilmesi İçin Fransa'dan Geldi

Kore Klasikleri Tercüme Enstitüsü'nün planladığı "Uigwe" adı verilen Korece kraliyet metinlerinin çevirisi geçen yıl 145 yıl aradan sonra Kore'ye döndü. Enstitü Çince karakterleri kullanarak Korece ve arkaik yazı sistemiyle Çin ve İdu'da yazılan "Seson Uiso'nun Cenazesi İçin Uigwe"nin çevirisine başlayacak. Uiso Joseon Hanedanlığının (1392-1910) 21. hükümdarı Kral Yeongjo'nun "seson"u diğer bir deyişle büyük torunudur.

SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- The Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics plans to translate a royal Korean text called "Uigwe" that was returned to Korea last year from France after 145 years into Korean.
The institute will start the translation of the "Uigwe for the Funeral of the Seson Uiso," which was written in Chinese and Idu, the archaic writing system that represented the Korean language using Chinese characters.
Uiso was the "seson," or eldest grandson, of King Yeongjo, the 21st monarch of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910).

S. Korean master dancer dies

G.Koreli Usta Dansçı Hayatını Kaybetti

"Sakatın dansı"yla bilinen ve tek kişilik dans, dans dramasının kurucusu olarak bilinen efsanevi Koreli halk dansçısı Kong Ok-jin pazartesi erken saatlerde güney şehrindeki hastanede vefat etti. 79 yaşında olan Kong 1998 yılında felç hastalığına yakalandığından beri memleketi Yeonggwang'daki hastanede tedavi görüyordu.
