Konu

Yo-Han bir bakanın oğludur. Sorumsuz kişiliğiyle bir teoloji (tanrıbilim) seminerine katılır ama sonra çıkar. ABD ordusunda Koreli bir asker olarak görevlerini bitirdikten sonra Kore'deki 8. ABD Ordusu'nun Eğitim Merkezi'nde eğitmenlik yapar. Amerika'daki bir askeri okulda eğitim vermek için seçildiğinde evlilik için acele etmektedir. Her nasılsa aniden kör olur. Umutsuzluk içinde intihar etmeyi düşünmektedir. Ama sonra parlak ışık ortasında Tanrı’nın sesini duymak gibi mucizevi bir deneyim yaşar. Bir uyanış ve keşfedilen bir cesaret kazanır. Seoul Demiryolu İstasyonu’nda ayakkabı boyacısı çocuk Jin-Yong ile arkadaş olur. Sonunda bir çağrı alır. Teoloji çalışmalarına geri döner. New York'ta Helen Keller Vakfı’nın yardımıyla görme engelliler için bir kilise yönetir.

Synopsis

Yo-han is the son of a minister. With a carefree personality, Yo-han enters a theological seminary but then quits. After finishing his duties as a Korean soldier assigned to the U.S. army, Yo-han works as an instructor in the education center in the Eighth U.S. Army in Korea. When Yo-han is chosen to teach at a military school in America, he rushes into marriage. However, he is suddenly blinded. In despair, Yo-han contemplates suicide. But then, he has a miraculous experience of hearing God's voice amidst brilliant light. Yo-han receives an awakening and newfound courage. He becomes friends with the shoe-shining kid, Jin-yong, in the Seoul Railway Station. Finally, Yo-han realizes his calling. He returns to his theology studies. In New York, with the help of the Helen Keller Foundation, Yo-han runs a church for the blind.
