BooHwal grubunun vokalisti Jung Dongha, müzikal oyuncusu olarak performans yelpazesini genişletti. Jung Dongha çeşitli yüz ifadeleri, dansları ve benzersiz yüksek vokalleriyle 'Joseph Amazing' müzikalindeki Joseph başrolünü canlandırarak seyircilerin dikkatini çekiyor. Jung Dongha ışıldayan gözlerle, "Bu müzikal için tüm çabamı ortaya koyacağım," dedi.

*'Joseph Amazing' müzikali hakkında sohbet

"Joseph'in bana benzediğini hissediyorum. Joseph hayalperest ve saf biri, fakat hayata karşı olumlu bir tutumu var. Müzikalin sonunda Joseph onu bırakıp giden kardeşlerini affediyor ve birbirlerine sarılıyorlar. Bu çok dokunaklı. Her ailenin bu müzikali izlemesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum."

*Müzikalde oynama isteği ve meydan okuma

Zamanlama mükemmeldi. Jung Dongha KBS2 programı 'Immortal Song'da performans sergilemesinin ardından popülarite kazanıyordu, ancak zamanla performanslarında daha farklı bir şey sergileme baskısı hissetmeye başladı. Jung Dongha programdan ayrılma vaktinin geldiğini düşünürken, BooHwal grubunun önceki vokalistlerinden biri olan Kim Jaehee ona müzikalde bir rol teklif etti ve o da bu teklifi geri çevirmedi.

"Medya programdan müzikalde oynamak için ayrıldığımı söylüyor, ama gerçek farklı. Ben yeni bir şeyler yapmak istiyordum. Müzikalde Joseph rolünü canlandırmak için uzun konuşmaları ve diyalogları ezberlemesi gerekiyor. Diyalogları bir şarkının sözleri gibi ezberlediğindeni bu onun için çok da zor olmadı. Ayrıca, şarkıların verdiği mesajları daha iyi ifade edebilmek amacıyla önceden aldığı oyunculuk dersleri de ona yardımcı oldu. Şansına, Joseph'in müzikaldeki dansları da karmaşık değil.

"Daha önceden 'Rolly Polly' isimli müzikalde rol almıştım. O müzikalde neredeyse hiç konuşmadım. Bu yüzden, bu müzikalin gerçekten oynayarak ve diyaloglara sahip olarak ana karakteri tasvir ettiğim ilk müzikal olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Gergin olmama rağmen eğleniyorum. Jung Dongha, singer of the Group BooHwal, has expanded the range of the performance as a musical actor. Through a variety of facial expressions, dance and his uniquely explosive vocals,
Jung Dongha is grabbing attention from the audience in portraying the main character Joseph in the musical 'Joseph Amazing'. "I will put all my effort into this musical", he said with shining-eyes.

*Talking about the musical 'Joseph Amazing'

"I feel that Joseph resembles me. He is a dreamer and naïve; however, Joseph has a positive attitude toward life. At the end of the musical, Joseph forgives his brothers who abandoned him and they all hug each other. It is so touching. I think that every family should watch the musical".

*Motivation to perform in the musical and challenge

The timing was perfect. Jung Dongha has been gaining fame and popularity since he has performed on the KBS2 show 'Immortal Song'; however, over time he started to feel pressure that he had to show something different in his performance. When Jung Dongha was thinking it was time to leave the show, Kim Jaehee, who was one of the previous singers of BooHwal, suggested that he play a role in the musical, and he accepted the proposal.

"The media says that I left the show to perform in the musical, but the truth is different. I was keen to do something new. Recently, in my last recording for 'Immortal Song', I sang
'Flying High', originally sung by Im Jaebum, whom I admire the most. I used to sing this song when I was in a bad situation. I will never forget the show' Immortal Song'.

To play the role of Joseph in the musical, he needed to memorize long speeches and dialogue. However, it was not that hard for him because he memorized the dialogues as lyrics of the songs. Also, the acting lessons he took earlier to express the message of the songs better helped him in acting. Fortunately, Joseph's dance in the musical is not complicated.

"I performed a role in the musical 'Rolly Polly' before. I barely talked in that musical. So I can say that this is the first musical that I actually perform and have dialogue in, portraying the main character. I am enjoying it even though I am nervous. Responses are very different from those of the concerts'. This is also interesting for me."

*Plan for the future and goals

BooHwal is a company that is part of his life. Kim Taewon (leader), Che Jaemin (drummer) and Seo Jaehyuk (Base guitar) are like real brothers and family. Due to this faith, when the group collaborated and released a song with Park Wangue, one of the previous vocalists, Jung Dongha was fine. Jung Dongha is planning to release a solo album in May.

"It does not mean that I will leave BooHwal. I want to sing songs in my own style. I won't include many songs in my solo album. I am happy these days; working hard and staying busy. I would like to participate in the entertainment programs in TV. I am confident of my ability to do well in those shows. Please give me a call (laughter)."
