“İnsan Onuruna Saygılı Bir Üniversite”

Kore Katolik Üniversitesi, Güney Kore’de prestijli bir Roma Katolik yüksek öğrenim kurumudur. Başkent Seoul’de ve komşu şehir Bucheon’da faaliyet göstermektedir. Üniversitenin tıp okulu, Seoul Ulusal Üniversitesi ve Yonsei Üniversitesi ile birlikte Kore’nin en iyi üç tıp okullarından biri olarak kabul. Tıp okuluna bölgenin büyük şehirlerinde sekiz adet bağlı hastane bulunmaktadır.

Üniversitenin “Gelen Küreselleşme” politikası vardır, tüm birinci sınıf öğrencileri için 1,200 öğrenci profesör ağırlayabilecek İngilizce dilinde yurt hizmeti vermektedir. Genellikle bütün bir çalışma dönemi boyunca İngilizce kullanmaya teşvik etmektedir. “Gelen Küreselleşme” politikasına uygun olarak üniversite, diğerlerinin yanı sıra Amerika, İngiltere, Singapur, Kanada, Çin, Almanya ve Japonya ‘dan saygın akademik geçmişe sahip öğretim üyeleri ile donatılmıştır.

Tarihi:
1855 yılında Hıristiyanlık yasallaştırılmadan önce kuruldu. Hıristiyanlığın yasallaştırılmasından sonra, okul 1877’de Yongsan-gu’ya taşındı ve adı İsa’nın Kutsal Kalbi İlahiyat Okulu ( Seminary of Sacred Heart of Jesus) olarak değiştirildi. İlahiyat Okulu ile ilişkili hastane 1936 yılında açıldı. İlahiyat Okulu 1947 yılında Songsim Koleji (聖心, Korece’de Kutsal Kalp anlamına gelir) oldu ve tıp okulu 1954 yılında kuruldu. Adı daha sonra Katolik Koleji olarak değiştirildi. Songsim Kadınlar Koleji 1964 yılında kurulmuştur; iki kolej Katolik Üniversite’nin bugünkü varlıklarını oluşturmak üzere 1990 yılında birleşmiştir.

Küreselleşmede Asya’nın merkezi olmak için 5 aşamalı bir strateji uygulamaya konmuştur:

Öğrenci Destekleri:

Burs: Öğrenciler için burs verilmektedir.
Tıbbi Avantajlar: Bütün öğrenciler okulla ilişkili hastanelerde ücretsiz check-up olabilirler. Ayrıca muayene, tedavi, ilaç, vb içeren tıbbi ücretler için% 30 indirim alırlar.
İdari Hizmetler Ekibi: Üniversite, idari ihtiyaçların geniş yelpazesi ile onlara yardımcı olmak için tek-elden elverişli bir hizmet merkezini öğrencilere sağlamaktadır. Öğrenciler, profesörlerin çalışma saatlerini, duyuru dökümlerini, tam zamanlı veya yarı zamanlı işler için bilgileri bulabilirler.
Öğrenci Rehberlik ve Psikolojik Danışma Merkezi: Çeşitli sorunları olan öğrenciler, grup ya da birebir seanslar için danışma merkezini ziyaret edebilirler. Psikolojik muayene ücretsizdir ve gizlilik garantilidir. Bazı nitelikli öğrenciler de danışmanlık uzmanlık eğitimi alabilir.

“A university with respect for human dignity”

The Catholic University of Korea is a prestigious Roman Catholic institution of higher education in South Korea. It operates campuses in the capital, Seoul, and in neighboring Bucheon City. The university operates a medical school, which is considered to be one of the top three medical schools in Korea along with Seoul National University and Yonsei University. The medical school has eight affiliated hospitals in major cities of the region.

The university has a policy of "inbound globalization", requiring all freshmen to live in the English language dormitory which can accommodate 1,200 students and professors. They are encouraged to use only English during the program, which usually runs for a whole semester.[1] In accordance with the "inbound globalization" policy, the university is equipped with faculty members with esteemed academic backgrounds; professors, professionals, and researchers from the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, China, Germany, and Japan, among others.

History
The university traces its roots to St. Joseph's Seminary in Baeron, a Catholic refuge in modern-day Jecheon, North Chungcheong province. It was founded in 1855 before Christianity was legalized. After the legalization of Christianity, the school moved to Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in 1887, and was renamed Seminary of Sacred Heart of Jesus. A hospital associated with the seminary was opened in 1936. The seminary became Songsim College in 1947 (Songsim, or 聖心, means 'Sacred Heart' in Korean) and the medical school was established in 1954. The name was later changed to Catholic College. Songsim Women's College was founded in 1964; the two colleges were merged in 1990 to form the present-day entity of Catholic University.

The 5 strategies for management have been to be the Asian hub of globalization, a five-step strategy has been implemented.

-Progress towards an eco-friendly campus
-Selection of talented students and offering scholarship programs
-Development of research environment and a new drive toward a greater cooperation between industry and academics


Student Support:
Scholarships: scholarships for academic excellence, financial circumstance, excellence in foreign languages, and more are available for freshmen. Scholarships for students with dependants, students who demonstrate filial piety, social service, excellence in the arts and sciences, honors club, and more are available to all students. The CUK also offers scholarships outside the sphere of academics in consideration of the distinctiveness of each subject field to enable students to concentrate on their studies.

Medical Benefits: All students may receive a free check-up at any of our affiliated hospitals. They also receive a 30% discount for medical fees involving examinations, treatment, medication, etc.

Administrative Services Team: The CUK provides students with a convenient one-stop service center to assist them with a broad range of administrative needs. Students may check professors’ office hours, order transcripts, find out information about full-time and part-time jobs, etc.

Student Guidance and Counseling Center: Students with various problems may visit the counseling center for group or one-on-one sessions. Psychological examinations are free of charge and confidentiality is guaranteed. Some qualified students can also receive specialized training in counseling.

The university offers state-of-the-art libraries in each of the three campuses that are networked with one another and dormitories where students can enjoy a pleasant campus life.
