Car Free Day in Seoul

22 Eylül “Seoul Arabasız Günü”dür. “Seoul Arabasız Günü” enerjinin korunmasını ve hava kirliliğinin azaltılmasına destek veren bir gündür. Bugünde toplu taşıma araçları hariç özel araçlar trafiğe çıkmaz. Seoul, yoğun trafikten uzak bir şehir haline gelir.
Arabasız gün etkinliği, her yıl yaklaşık 40 ülkede 2,000 civarı şehirde aynı anda gerçekleştirilir.

September 22nd(Monday) was ‘Seoul Car Free Day’. ‘Seoul, Car Free Day’- an energy preservation and environmental protection campaign-aims to reduce air pollution, noise and traffic jams by restraining automobile use as well as creating ‘Car-Free City’ by diminishing air pollution from cars.
A series of campaigns such as ‘Co2 reduction-Tracing Ecological Foot Print’ ‘Public Transportation Use Campaign’, and ‘Unused Cellular Phone Collecting Campaign’ enables consumers to realize how right consumption attitude and small changes in life habit can greatly affect the protection of the environment. Many consumer organizations including the National Council of the Green Consumers Network in Korea and the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement participated in the Campaign.
The campaign was simultaneously observed in about 2,000 cities in 40 countries across the world.
