Asit, 9.0 şiddetindeki depremden zarar gören nükleer reaktörleri stabilize etmek amacıyla kullanılacak. Japonya 52 ton borik asit talebinde bulundu.

S. Korea to send boric acid to Japan for nuclear stabilization
A South Korean official checks stocks of boric acid that will be sent to Japan at the urgent request of Japan’s Kansai Electric Power Co. The acid will be used to help stabilize sizzling nuclear reactors hit by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake. Japan requested 52 tons of boric acid. (Yonhap, 16.03.2011)
