Güney Kore, Dünya Beyzbol Klasiği’nin (WBC) çeyrek finallerine ilerleyemedi.
Güney Kore, salı günü Tayvan’daki Taichung Uluslararası Beyzbol Stadyumu’nda oynanan B Grubu final maçında Tayvan’ı 3-2 yendi fakat bu galibiyet çeyrek finallere yükselmeye yetmedi.
Kore, Tayvan ve Hollanda grubu 2-1 bitirmişti fakat Kore ve Avustralya’yı eleyerek Tayvan ile Hollanda yollarına devam etti.
İlk kez Güney Kore WBC’de çeyrek finale gidemedi. 2006 yılında yarı finallere kadar gelirken 2009 yılında ikinci olmuşlardı.

South Korea has failed to advance to the quarterfinals of the World Baseball Classic (WBC).
South Korea beat Taiwan 3-2 Tuesday in the final match of Group B play at Taichung International Baseball Stadium in Taiwan on Tuesday, but the win wasn’t enough for a quarterfinal berth.
Korea, Taiwan, and the Netherlands all finished the group with 2-1 records, but Taiwan and the Dutch advanced, edging out the Koreans and a winless Australia on run differential.
This is South Korea’s first time to miss the quarterfinals in the WBC. It advanced to the semifinals in 2006 and finished runner-up in 2009.
