İş artışı, süren ekonomik yavaşlamaya rağmen sekiz aydır devam ediyor.
Kore İstatistik Kurumunun istihdam raporuna göre istihdam edilen kişi sayısı geçen yılın mayıs ayına göre 472 bin artarak 25.1 milyondan fazla oldu.
İstihdam sektörü, 400 bin yeni işçiyle birçok işgücü kazandı ve ekimden beri ilk kez iktisaden faal nüfus 25 milyon kişinin üstüne çıktı.
Kore İstatistik Kurumu; toptan, perakende ve hizmet sektörlerinde istihdamı artan insanların sayısında kademeli bir artışla büyüme sağlandığını açıkladı.
İşsizlik oranı yıllık bazda %0.1 düşerek %3.1 olurken, istihdam oranı yıllık bazda %0.4 artarak %65.1 oldu.
Ancak, iş piyasasının gençler için zor bir yer olarak kaldığı görülüyor. İstatistik ajansı, 15 ila 29 yaş arası Güney Korelilerde işsizliğin geçen yıla göre %0.7 arttığını söyledi.

Job growth has continued for the eighth consecutive month despite the ongoing economic slowdown.
A Statistics Korea employment report shows that the number of employed people increased over 472-thousand year-on-year in May to more than 25-point-one million.
The employment sector boost marks the eighth month in a row the workforce gained more than 400-thousand new employees, and the first time since October that the economically active population climbed above 25 million people.
Statistics Korea attributed the growth to a gradual rise in the number of people who landed jobs in the wholesale, retail and service industries.
The resulting employment rate grew zero-point-four percentage points year-on-year to 65-point-one percent, while the unemployment rate fell zero-point-one percentage points to three-point-one percent.
However, the job market seems to remain a tough place for young people. The stats agency said eight percent of South Koreans between 15 and 29 years old remain jobless, up zero-point-seven percentage points from a year ago.
