2001’den bu yana her sonbaharı içeren, Seoul Performing Arts Festivali (SPAF) Kore’de uluslar arası üstün gösteri sanatlarından birisi olmuştur. Bu yıl SPAF Seoul Sanat Merkezi, Arko Sanat Tiyatrosu, Daehangno Sanat Tiyatrosu ve Sejong Merkezini içeren, Seoul’de başından sonuna kadar büyük tiyatro buluşma yerlerinde 2 Ekim’den 14 Kasım’a kadar devam edecek.

10. yıl dönümü için SPAF 2010’ un belirlenmiş ana teması, ‘SPAF Strikes Sparks’. (SPAF kıvılcımlar saçıyor.) Bu tema, onların arzularını sunmaya teşvik eden ve yüksek derecede beğeni toplayan eserlerin düşündürücü, kışkırtan performanslarını, gösteri sanatlarının etkinlik alanı için ilham veren yeni bir alevi ifade eder. Vizyon çeşitliliği; bakış tarzları ve amaçları, sanatsal tutku ile birleştiğinde yoğunluk sunmuş olacak.

Bu yıl SPAF’ta sekiz ülkeden 28 özel performans sunulacak: Rusya, Litvanya, Bulgaristan, Fransa, Belçika, İsviçre ve Polonya’dan deniz aşırı 10 yapıt, Kore’den 17 yapıt ve Kore – Fransa'dan bir ortak yapıt. Bu kültürel farklı performanslar, tiyatro için 7 yapıt, 18 dans performansı, 1 tane çok disiplinli eser ve 2 sokak oyununu kapsayacak.

Introduction

Held every autumn since 2001, Seoul Performing Arts Festival (SPAF) has been one of the preeminent international performing arts festivals in Korea. This year, SPAF will be held from October 2nd to November 14th at major theatre venues throughout Seoul, including Seoul Arts Center, Arko Arts Theater, Daehangno Arts Theater, and Sejong Center.

For its 10th anniversary, SPAF 2010 has set the theme, “SPAF Strikes Sparks”. This theme expresses their desire to present stimulating and thought provoking performances of highly-acclaimed works, thereby inspiring a new flame to the field of performing arts. A variety of visions, styles and points of view coupled, with artistic passion and, intensity will be presented.

This year, SPAF will present 28 distinctive performances from eight countries; 10 overseas productions from Russia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Poland, 17 productions from Korea, and 1 Korean-French co-production. These culturally diverse performances will include 7 productions for theatre, 18 dance performances, 1 multidisciplinary work and 2 street plays.

Taebaek Sunflower Festival / 2010

Guwau Village (Taebaek, Gangwon-do) is host to the Taebaek Sunflower Festival, a celebration of the area’s wide array of colorful wildflowers and endless fields of sunflowers (the largest sunflower patch in Korea). Held in August, the festival takes place in the middle of a 544,000m2 stretch of land and includes a 5km-stretch of vibrant sunflowers. In addition to the astounding natural beauty, there are also a number of exhibitions of works by Korean/international artists and artists belonging to HALATEC (Hal Art & Technology), Triangle Project, and more. The festival offers a variety of fun and exciting programs including a petting zoo (rabbits, goats, ducks, etc,small concerts around a campfire, nature films and documentaries, and a Taebaek Arare performance.)
