Usually, dried ‘Duri’ persimmon which was naturally grown in this area were being used for the memorial ritual, however, these days, we developed the better kinds of persimmon, and it has higher sugar and softer inside, higher vitamin A, B, C. If you eat it 2~3 a day, it will prevent from cough or chronic bronchitis during the season changes. Therefore, we are doing our best to manage the quality and to provide seeds, because now it is not enough to provide it for all demands from famous department stores, distribution companies, phone orders and direct sales.
Therefore this area is the best agriculture area.
With the wellbeing atmosphere, we adopted a quality assurance system and recall system for our products, so all strawberry farmers have received an agriculture education, this have never happened before in Korea, moreover, we received low chemical farming certificate from the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service. To produce special our products, we used oriental nutrition and nature vegetable juice for the farming so consumers can eat our welling products safely, and that is reported on the Seoul Newspaper page 16 on March, 5, 2002.
3. Ginseng: As is indicated by its name, ginseng is human shaped, and it is known as the best medicine that can protect our life and health. Therefore, it also called ‘Human’s miraculous medicine’ and ‘Mysterious medical herb’; it is the most important material among many oriental medicine materials. Ginseng is the miraculous herb that is grown in Korea. Because Korean ginseng is so famous, there are many herbs named ginseng. For example, Panax japonicus C. A. Meyer of Japan, Panax quinquefolium L. of USA, Panax notoginseng of China is all are not the same as Korean ginseng. Scrophularia buergeriana Miq. Salvia miltiorrhiza, Japanese lady bell, Sophora angustifolia Sieb. et Zucc and Taxus cuspidata sieb. et Zucc. Called Five Sam and including ginseng called Six Sam.
To divide the good and bad ginseng, our ginseng is divided separately as ‘Korean Insam’ and changed the ‘Sam’ Chinese character from ‘參’ to '蔘'. Korean Insam belong to the Acanthopanax sessiliflorus and called ‘Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer’. Also Panax japonicus C. A. Meyer, Panax quinquefolium L., Panax notoginseng belong to the same category but those are the different plant with Korean Insam.
2. Strawberry (Chorong Oriental Medicine Strawberry) : Yangchon is located in the edge of Daedun mountain, faces are surrounded by mountains, so it has less pollution, clean water, clean mountain and clean air.
Balsam Armudu :

Balsam Pear

Balsam pear is vine gourd plant that grows in torpical area. Balsam pear are also called Yeoja or Yeoji in Korean and because it tastes bitter Chinese call them Kokwa and Japanese call them Koya or Nigawoori. The bitter taste of Balsam pear is due to Phytosterol, amino acids, galactose acids, pectin and other elements inside the fruit. The fruit belongs to Cucurbitaceae and it is long and oval. Each end of the fruit is narrow and has small lumps sticking out in the outer layer. When the pear ripe the fruit gets cracked irregularly and the seeds covered in reddish flesh can be seen. In Korean, the fruit is called Yeoju since it looks similar to Yeoji (Litchi). The reddish testae and unripe fruits are used as food and the seeds are used as oriental medicine. We pickle the fruit and eat them or eat them with cooked meats.

Ssamchae

Originally, vegetables that were used as Ssam (Korean Traditional food with rice wrapped in leaves) was limited to lettuce, green perilla, cooked cabbage, and boiled pumpkin leaves. Recently, however, people use many different kinds of vegetables such as wild greens, medicinal herbs and other vegetable leaves from all over the world.

Green Romaine

Kos Island in Aegean Sea is the home of Green Romaine and the vegetable is sometimes called “Kos Lettuce”. Green Romaine is kind of lettuce but it grows in an upright position and makes a head just like cabbage. There are green Caesar and red Caesar, and the green Caesar is called Green Raomaine.

It is eaten raw as salads and remaining part after the leaves are removed is used in Ssam. The salad is often called Caesar Salad because it is said that Caesar had loved the salad. The leaves are soft and sweet, so it is also good for people who have bad teeth.

Red Mustard

Red mustard is mainly used as an ingredient in Kimchi, and it has distinctive hot taste and fragrance.

Pumpkin sweet potato is a crossbreed of water sweet potato and pumpkin. It is grown in the cool coastal climate of Taean in the rich yellow soil field, so when you steam or roast it, the insides turns deep yellow and it is very sweet and soft.
Depending on the cultivation environment Pumpkin potato can be hard like chestnut potato and the level of sweetness also depends on the amount of moisture, but the Pumpkin potato grown in the Taean’s yellow soil has strong sweetness and also as soft as water potato.
