Hatta onun sayesinde Samsung bugün bizlerin de iyi tanıdığı dünya çapında büyük bir şirket olmuştur. 19 Kasım 1987'de hayata gözlerini yummuştur.

Lee Byung-chull (February 12, 1910 November 19, 1987) was the founder of the Samsung Group. He was the son of a wealthy landowning family who used his inheritance to open a rice mill for his first venture. That endeavor was not especially successful so he established a trucking business in Daegu on March 1, 1938, which he named Cheil, the forerunner to Samsung. He attended college at Waseda University in Tokyo, although he did not complete his degree.

Tongsun Park (born 1935), also known as Pak Dong-seon, was a figure in two political money-related scandals: Koreagate in the 1970s, and the Oil-for-Food Program scandal of the 2000s. Park had a reputation as the "Asian Great Gatsby", a socialite who charmed congressmen with his Washington dinner parties and cash payments. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Web site, he was released from prison on September 10, 2008.
In 1976, Park was charged with bribing members of the U.S. Congress, using money from the South Korea government, in an unsuccessful effort to convince the United States government to keep troops in Vietnam. In 1977 he was indicted by a U.S. District Court on 36 counts, including bribery, illegal campaign contributions, mail fraud, racketeering, and failure to register as an agent of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency. He avoided a federal trial by testifying to the court in exchange for immunity. His testimony did not have a major impact, though it led to three members of Congress getting reprimanded, and may have convinced Speaker of the House Carl Albert to not run for re-election.
In 1992, he was approached by Samir Vincent, an Iraqi-born American who was lobbying unofficially on behalf of the Saddam Hussein regime, to try to create a program that would bypass the United Nations-approved economic sanctions of Iraq that had started in 1991. Park agreed, requesting a payment of US$10 million for his effort, which Vincent agreed to. Park served as a liaison between Vincent and then-United Nations Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, whom Park was friendly with. In late 1996, partly as a result of Park's lobbying efforts, the U.N. Oil-for-Food Program began. After 1997, when Kofi Annan became the new secretary-general, the government of Iraq dropped its ties with Park; Park had received about US$2 million from them by then.
In 2005, Park's name surfaced as part of investigations into the oil-for-food scandal. In July 2006, he was convicted, in a U.S. federal court, on conspiracy charges. He became the first person convicted through the oil-for-food investigation.
On February 22, 2007 he was sentenced to five years in prison. He was also fined $15,000 and required to forfeit $1,200,000.

He obtained APR (Accredited in Public Relations) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and holds a degree in English literature from Sogang University in Seoul.

Eric B. Kim (born 1954) is a Korean-American businessman in the technology field. He currently (as of 2006[update]) serves as a senior vice president at Intel, where he heads their Digital Home Group.
Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1954. At the age of 11, his family moved to Los Angeles, in the United States. He majored in physics at Harvey Mudd College, and went on to earn a master's in engineering at UCLA and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Kim worked for a number of companies in his early career. He was general manager of database products at software firm Lotus Development, President and CEO of Pilot Software, a part of business information provider Dun & Bradstreet, and a member of venture-capitalist firm Spencer Trask Software Group.
Kim moved back to Korea to join Samsung Electronics in 1999, where during a tenure of five years he rose to become leader of their global marketing initiatives.

Ilchi Lee (born Lee Seung-Heun on December 23, 1950) is a South Korean author and the founder of a variety of mind-body training methods, including Dahnhak, Dahn yoga, Brain Respiration, Brain Education, and DahnMuDo.Lee began teaching his methods in a park in the 1980s, and since that time the practice has developed into an international network of for-profit and non-profit entities.

Kim Woo-Choong; Daewoo Group'un kurucusu ve eski başkanıdır. 17 Aralık 1936da Daegu'da doğmuştur, Valinin oğludur.
Gençliğinde ailesine yardım amacıyla gazete dağıtıcısı olarak çalışmıştır.Prestijli Kyonggi Lisesinden mezun olmuştur.Sonrasında Yonsei Üniversitesinde Ekonomik Derece yapmıştır. Babası; daha sonra iş yaşamında ve finansal olarak Kim'i destekleyeceği, eski başkan Park Chung Hee'nin danışmanının öğretmenliğini yapmıştır.
Yonsei'den mezun olduktan sonra, ticaret yapan küçük bir gruba girdi. Daha sonra tekstil ve kıyafet alanında uzmanlaştı. Yonsei'den ve bazı siyasilerinde desteğini alarak, 90'lı yıllarda şirketin 30 yıllık bir geçmişi olmasına rağmen, alanında 2.oldu ve gelir bakımından da 3. oldu. Bu inanılmaz bir başarıydı. Şirket bir dönem yaşanan Asya mali krizinden olumsuz etkilendi.
Kim, sürgüne yollandığı zaman İnterpol'un listesine girdi. Çünkü arkasında Daewoo'dan bir sürü borç bırakıp kaçmıştı. 14 Haziran 2005 yılında Güney Kore'ye döndükten sonra tutuklandı. Kim Woo-choong was the founder and former chairman of the Daewoo Group. Born in December 17th 1936, in Daegu, he was the son of the Provincial Governor.
He was a newspaper delivery boy when he was a youngster, helping a family that depended almost solely on him during a brief period of time. He graduated from the prestigious Kyonggi High School, then finished with an Economics Degree in Yonsei University in Seoul. His father was the teacher or mentor of Former President, Park Chung Hee, who in turn supported Kim to a great degree both financially and business-wise.
After graduating from Yonsei, he entered into a small trading corporation, later specialising in textiles and clothing. He broke off and created Daewoo Industries with 5 people as his associates. Using his connections in both alumni of the Yonsei and political backing, he managed to do well, and consecutively bought many different companies. It would not be wrong to say that Daewoo Group was originally built on companies that were bought (most heavily in trouble). Kim was a magician in turning near-bankrupt companies into successive cash machines. With a company that had a history of 30 years, by the 90s, Daewoo Group was listed Number 2 on assets, Number 3 on revenues, an unbelievable achievement for anybody with knowledge of how the other Big 3 Korean companies, (Hyundai, LG, Samsung), made their mark.
But due to its rather hollow financial structure, even though it had the most Overseas Branch offices, when the Asian Financial Crisis came about, the unstable Daewoo Group plummeted. It had to sell off nearly 50 division corporations, only focusing on the major companies.
Kim was on the list for the Interpol when he was in exile, because of how he left Daewoo with the insurmountable debt, to his employees etc...
He was arrested soon after he returned to South Korea on June 14, 2005, and apologized "for hurting the nation and accepted full responsibility for the collapse of the group, adding he is ready to accept whatever the authorities have in store for him," according to the Chosun Ilbo. In May 2006 he was sentenced to 10 years in jail after being found guilty of charges including embezzlement and accounting fraud. 21 trillion won ($22bn) of his fortune was seized and he was fined an additional 10m won.
On 30 December 2007, he was granted amnesty by President Roh Moo-hyun. (South Korean presidents traditionally hand out pardons for the new year.)

Sung, Yonsei Üniversitesi'nden aldığı Kimya Mühendisliği diplomasına sahiptir. Mezuniyetinin üzerine Samsung şirketinin ticari bölümünde 3 yıl çalışmıştır. Daha sonra California Üniversitesinde Haas Ticaret okulunda İşletme Uzmanlığı bölümünü okumuştur.

1996 yılında Kore’ye döndükten sonra McKinsey’de danışmanlık yapmıştır. 2004 yılında Yahoo! Korea'nın hizmetine girdi. 2005 yılının Ekim ayında başkanlığa atanmadan önce genel müdür olarak hizmet vermiştir.

Sung Nak-Yang was the former CEO of Yahoo! Korea.

Sung holds a chemical engineering degree from Yonsei University. Upon graduation, he worked for three years in the trading department of Samsung Corporation. Afterwards, he received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

After returning to Korea in 1996, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company and Accenture. He was hired by Yahoo! Korea in December 2004. He served as COO before getting promoted to CEO in October 2005.
