Yongyeon Tapınağı, aziz Wangjang'ın, 1670 civarinda (Kral Hyeonjong'un 11inci yilinda) yaptırdığı anlatılır.
Tarihi, bilinememektedir ama birçok keşiş, tapınakta yasamıştır. Tamamen Kore savaşında yok edilmiştir. Ancak Bhikkuni, bu tapınağın yatakhanesini ve salonunu tekrardan inşa ettirdi. Fazladan bir tane yatakhane, 1958'de inşa edildi.
Bir çatıyla bir bina olarak 3 odanın olduğu bu yerlere çinlilerin yaptığı ahşap süslemelerden kullanılmıştır.
Sakkamunisamjonbulsang'ı tahtayla Buddha heykelinin arkasına duvar resmini yaptırmıştır.
Birçok Buddha duvar resmi, Samseonggak'ta gösterilir. Onlar uzun zaman önce yapılmıştır.
Wontongbojeon'da gösterilen Kwanseumposal heykeli, Yi hanedanında yapılmıltır.
Kulenin yanında bir anıt üssü vardır. Bu tapınakta en yaşlı taş nesnelerinin biridir.

Driving about ten minutes to the north along the national road 7 from Gangneung, you can reach Sacheon-myeon . Going in about 10km to the west from Sacheon, you can find Yongyeonsa Temple in the cozy mountain.
It is reported that many temples in Gangwon-do claimed that Saint Wangjang founded it at about the same time of 1670(in the 11th year of King Hyeonjong).
Detail history cannot be known, but many monks searched for truth sometime, it was completely destroyed in Korean War, a Bhikkuni rebuilt the main Buddha hall and dormitory, one more dormitory was built in 1958, and Wontongbojeon and Samseonggak were built in 1983.
As a building with a roof having structure of Chinese character ‘Pal’ composed of the front 3 rooms and side 3 rooms, the main Buddha hall enshrines Sakkamunisamjonbulsang and made the Buddhist wall painting at the back of Buddha statue with wood.
Many Buddha wall paintings are displayed in Samseonggak. It is not long ago to make them.
Kwanseumposal statue displayed in Wontongbojeon seems to have been made in the Yi dynasty.
In the temple there is a 3.6m high 5-story stone tower built in 1967. It was made in use of the original base.
There is a monument base beside the tower. It is one of the oldest stone objects in this temple.
