WINNER Güney Kore'de olan ve 2013 yılında YG Entertainment adı altında kurulan bir erkek grubudur. Grupta adları Kang Seung-yoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo ve Lee Seung Hoon olan 5 üye bulunuyor.
Öncelikle gelecek olarak adlandırılan gerçek-yaşam programı "Who is Next: WIN" tanıtıldı. YG Entertainment içindeki kursiyerler iki takım halinde (Takım A & Takım B) BIGBANG'den bu yana 8 yıldır "yeni çocuk idol grup" olmak amacıyla ilk kez birbirlerine karşı yarışıp galibiyet kazanacaklar. Programın bitiminde WINNER unvanı halk oylamasında her üç turda kazanan Takım A'ya verildi.

WINNER is a South Korean male group under the management of YG Entertainment formed in 2013. The group consists of 5 members namely Kang Seung-yoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo, and Lee Seung Hoon.
They were first introduced in the reality-survival program called Who is Next: WIN where two teams (Team A & Team B) of trainees within YG Entertainment competed against each other in order to debut as the "new boy idol group" in 8 years since BIGBANG. At the conclusion of the program the title of WINNER was given to Team A who won all three rounds of the public voting

İlk çıkışı, eski Superstar K2 yarışmacısı ve grubun lideri Kang Seung Yoon ve son 4 parçasıydı. Uzun değerlendirmeler sonrasında 2011 yılında YG Entertainment ile imza atmaya karar verdi ve "kendi yeteneklerini geliştirmeye" yönelik eğitimine geri dönme talebi ile hayran bıraktığı için şirket tarafından seçildiği ortaya çıktı. Short Legged Revenge of: Aynı yıl popüler sitcom High Kick'de oyunculuk yaptı. 2013'te YG'nin reality programı WIN yayınlanmadan önce, "It Rains" şarkısı ile birden fazla grafikte üst noktaya ulaştı ve özellikle birden çok parçanın bulunduğu bir solo albümü yapmıştı.
Lee Seunghoon, grubun ana dansçısı üstelik eski reality-şarkı yarışmasının katılımcılarındandır - K-pop Star 1. Sezon bölümünde dördüncü olmuştu. YG işe alınan Lee'nin kendine, şovun hakimi olarak ve dizi çalışması sırasında -özellikle kendi koreografi becerilerine- büyük bir hayranlık göstermişti.
Şarkı söylemeye Minho ile birlikte "Mino" veya "Hugeboy Mino" sahne adı altında eski yeraltı rapçileri-idoller gibi yani Blok B'den PO, Zico ve MIB'den SIMS gibi yeraltında başladı. Başlangıçta erkek grubu B Blok içinde bir stajyerdi ama kişisel nedenlerle ilk çıkıştan hemen önce gruptan ayrıldı. 2011 yılında, Y2Y Contents Şirketi altında BoM şarkı grubunda rapçi olarak çıkış yaptı ancak grup, kamuoyunda popüler olmaması nedeniyle 2 yıl sonra dağıtıldı. 2012 yılının Mart atında TV draması The Strongest'daki ve Kanal A'daki K-POP Survival oyunculuğu ile tanındıktan sonra, 2013 yılında özel seçmelerle YG kadrosuna katıldı.

Kim Jinwoo Big Bang grubundan Seungri'nin şirketi "Joy Dance - Plug In Music Academy" olarak da bilinen "Seungri Akademi"ye katıldı. Seungri, Jinwoo'nu 2010 yılında stajyer olarak kabul ettikten sonra ondaki potansiyeli gördü ve YG'ye getirdi. Kim ve Nam Taehyun -Kim özel seçmelere ile 2011 yılında kadroya katıldı- 2011 yılı YG Family Konserinde yedek dansçı olarak görev yaptı.

Çıkış:WINNER (2013)

2013 yılı 25 ekimde, YG'nin WIN programının finalinde A takımı kazandı ve YG Entertainment altında 'Winner' adıyla çıkış yapacak. Programda Winner ve B takımı'nın (WINNER'dan 2 üye ve B takımından 2 üye) birlikte 28 Ekim 2013'de 4'nün kendileri tarafından yazılmış şarkı oluşturacakları ve büyüklerinin yani BIGBANG'in 15 Kasım 2013'de başlayacak olan Japonca kubbe turunda yer alacakları açıklandı.Top Star olmalarının üstüne birde yapacakları kubbe turu grup için büyük bir başarı. Winner grubunun erken gerçekleşecek dönüşü 2013 aralık veya 2014 ocak ayında yapılması planlanıyor.

WINNER 28 Ekim 2013 tarihinde yayınlanan Final Karsılasmasından bir saat sonra En Popüler klip listesinde açık ara önde olduğunu gördük. Saat 12'yi gösterdiği sırada (KST: Kore Saati ile) listelerde şarkının giderek rağbet gördüğü vede müzik listerinde başını çektigini gorduk. Bu çapta olağanüstü başarı yakalamak gerçekten iyi bir başarıdır. Japon Medyası henüz yeni bir grup olsalar bile onlara olan ilgilerini arttırdı.Cyworld şirketinin açıklamasına göre şarkının Kore sürümü bile müzik listelerinde 7. sıraya yükseldi. Ve bunun henüz başlangıç olduğunu daha da yükseleceğini düşünüyoruz.

Prior to the group's debut, the leader Kang Seung-yoon was a former Superstar K2 contestant and was part of the final 4. After much consideration, he decided to sign with YG Entertainment in 2011 and revealed he had chosen the company as he was impressed by their demands to return to training to "hone his craft". In the same year he made his acting debut through the popular sitcom High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged. In 2013, months before the airing of YG's reality program, WIN, he had made a solo debut releasing multiple tracks notably "It Rains" which reached the top spot in multiple charts.

Lee Seunghoon, the group's main dancer was also a former reality-singing contest alumni - K-pop Star Season 1 wherein he came in fourth place. YG recruited Lee himself, being one of the show's judges and had shown great admiration for him - specifically for his choreography skills - during the series' run.

Song Minho started out underground under the stage name "Mino" or "Hugeboy Mino" with former underground rappers-turned-idols namely Block B’s P.O, Zico and M.I.B's SIMS. He was initially a trainee for the male group Block B but left the group before debut for personal reasons. In 2011, he made his debut as a rapper for the ballad group BoM under Y2Y Contents Company however the group was disbanded 2 years later due to the lack of popularity with the public. In 2013 he was recruited into YG through private auditions after being recognized from his acting debut in March 2012 in the cable drama The Strongest K-POP Survival in Channel A.

Kim Jinwoo attended "Joy Dance - Plug In Music Academy" also known as "Seungri Academy", his senior label mate's - Big Bang's Seungri's company. Seungri brought Jinwoo to YG after seeing his potential until he eventually got accepted as a trainee in 2010. Kim and Nam Taehyun - who was recruited in 2011 through a private audition - performed as backup dancers at the 2011 YG Family Concert.

Debut: WINNER (2013)

On October 25, 2013 at the finale of YG's WIN: WHO IS NEXT, Team A won and will debut as the group 'Winner' under YG Entertainment. At the conclusion of the show it was announced that Winner along with Team B will immediately release 4 self composed songs on October 28, 2013 (2 from WINNER, and 2 from Team B) and they will then go on and tour with fellow labelmates Big Bang as the opening act for their Japenese dome tour which begins November 15, 2013. This is already a great achievement for the group as only top stars are able to perform in the dome. Winner is expected to debut as early as December 2013 or January of 2014.

WINNER proves their popularity within an hour of the release of the Final Battle extended play on October 28, 2013, 12pm (KST) wherein both the title song, Go Up and Just Another Boy ranked high in various music charts - which is an amazing feat as they are yet to officially debut. Go Up ranked the highest earning the top spot on Cyworld and peaked to 7th place on Korea's main online music site, the Melon charts. The Japanese media has also shown great interest to the group despite being rookie artists and is anticipated to be as big, if not bigger than their senior labelmates. Dubbed as 'monster rookies', the group has been offered to endorse 5 major brands and have been receiving love calls to guest on numerous variety shows even before formal debut.
