Yeongneung mezari , Büyük Kral Sejong zamaninda yaptirilan bir kraliyet kabiridir. Bu mezarda Kraliçe Sohyeon ile Kral Sejong soyundan olanlar gömülür. Kral Sejong, altin çagda Joseon kültürünü ilerletebilmek için çok çaba sarfeden iyi kalpli ve akilli bir kraldir. Yeongneung, 1446 yilinda Kral Sejong zamaninda kraliçenin ölümünden sonra insa edildi. Yeongneung'un dogusu Kraliçe batisi ise Kral Sejong için ayrildi. Bu kabir, her tabut için odalari içerde ayirilmasi bakimindan ilkler arsina girmistir. Kabir Joseon zamaninda "Gukjooryeui" kurallarina uygun olarak düzenlendi.
Bu kabrin yeri hakkinda bazi ugursuz elestiriler vardi. Kabir, 12 kenarli trabzan tarafindan kusatilmistir. Hunmin anitindaki oldugu gibi, Yeongneung'u gelistirmek amaciyla 1977 yilinda heykeller insa edildi.

Yeongneung

This is the royal tomb named "Yeongneung" where King Sejong the Great, the forth king of the Joseon, and his consort, Queen Sohyeon, are buried. King Sejong is the good and wise king who exerted himself to lead the culture of the Joseon to the golden era. Yeongneung was constructed after the death of the queen during the King Sejong, in 1446. The east part of Yeongneung was assigned for the queen and the west part for the King Sejong before his death. The royal couple was buried together as the king passed away. This tomb is the first one to have separated rooms for each coffin inside. The tomb was arranged after the rules stipulated in "Gukjooryeui" and became the sample for other royal tombs at the early time of Joseon. There were some claims that the location of this tomb was inauspicious during the reign of King Sejo. The twelve-sided-balustrade is placed surrounding the tomb. The stone figure that had been installed before the move was buried at the same spot but in 1974 they were discovered and moved to the monument center of the Great King Sejong. Other statues such as the monument of Hunmin, and the Great King Sejong were built in 1977 under the project of improving Yeongneung.
