Daesan-Myun, Namwon Şehri’nde yer alan Walgil Ormanı; ‘Güzel Köy Ormanı’ bölümünde birincilik ödülüyle ödüllendirildi. Tatmini ekolojik doğruluk, doğalık düzeyi, doğal güzellik, tarihi önem ve özelliğiyle bir orman olarak değerlendirilir. Walgil Ormanı, Walgil Köyü girişinde bulunur ve köyün markası olarak tanıtılır. Walgil Ormanı; büyük zelcova ağaçları ve Ginkgolarin muhteşem manzarasına sahiptir.
İkinci Ulusal Güzel Orman Yarışması, 2 Temmuz 2001’den 31 Ağustos 2001’e kadar düzenlendi. Bu, vatandaşlara ormanın önemini hatırlatmak, çevremizdeki güzel ormanı tanıtmak ve bulmak için bir çabadır. Ayrıca ormanları korumaya vatandaşları teşvik etmektir. 102 orman, yerinde yapılan değerlendirmelerin yanı sıra halka abonelik ve belgeleri sundu. Maeul Ormanı, Okul Ormanı, Sokak Ormanı da dahil olmak üzere toplam 21 Orman; 22. Yüzyıl için korunmuş olması gereken dört kategoride seçilmiş oldu.

Walgil forest located in Daesan-Myun Namwon City was rewarded with the first prize in ¡°Beautiful village forest¡± section. It is evaluated as a forest that satisfies ecological soundness, level of naturalness, scenic beauty, historical importance and peculiarity.
Walgil Forest is located on the entrance of Walgil village and will be introduced as trademark of the village. There are spectacular view of huge zelcova trees and ginkgos in Walgil Forest.
The second National Beautiful Forest Competition was held from July 2nd 2001 to August 31st 2001. It is an effort to find and promote beautiful forest around us to remind the importance of forest to our citizens and encourage the citizens to participate in activities for protecting forests. 102 forests were submitted through public subscriptions and documents as well as on-site evaluations were conducted. Total of 21 forests were selected including Maeul Forest, School Forest, Street Forest in 4 categories that need to be conserved for 22nd century.
