Samoo Mimarlarının planları kuzeydeki bölgeye 21. yüzyıla uygun yeni bir kamusal alan oluşturmak, Seoul İstasyonunun çevresini kalkındırmak için de alandaki ufak kulenin topografyasını sonunda izole etmek gerekti. Proje; havaalanı, tren istasyonu dahil toplu ulaşım için önemli transfer noktası oluşturmakla beraber önümüzdeki yıl tamamlanacak ve alanın çevresinde bulunan parklar ile bir sinerji geliştirilecek.

Urban Trachea (Kentin Trakeası, Nefes Borusu) ismi verildiğine nispetle proje şehir yaşamı için yeni bir soluk verecek, şehrin içindeki saklı potansiyelleri biri açığa çıkartacak. Mimarlar daha büyük bir ana plan için gelecekteki Seoul istasyonu merkezi olarak Seoul istasyonu Kültürel Alanı (Eski Seoul istasyonu) içermekle Güney özel sermaye kaynaklı Seoul KTX istasyonu ve Kuzey bölgesinde Kuzey Kalkınma yerini geliştirilmesi üzerinde durdular.

Bu sayede Seoul’un geçmişi, şimdisi ve geleceği bir arada var olarak demiryolu ulaşımları için merkez, yerleştirdiğiniz yer olacak. Sonsuz potansiyelleriyle uluslararası sözleşmeler için yeni bir merkez haline gelecektir.

Samoo Architects' plans for the Northern area of Seoul Station had to develop around a characterful yet isolated topography to create a new public realm, fit for the 21st century. The project was to create a major transfer-point for public transportations including the Airport Railway Station, which will be completed next year, and to develop a synergy with parks located around the site.

The name Urban Trachea was given to the project to suggest a new breath of life for the city, one which will reveal the potentials hidden within the city. The architects focused on developing a greater masterplan for the future of Seoul-station which includes the Seoul-station Cultural Space (former Seoul-station) as the center with the private capital induced Seoul KTX station to the South and the Northern Development site to the North.

Through this, Seoul will be a place where the past, the present, and the future coexist as the center for railway transportations. It will become a new center for International conventions with endless potentials.
