Tori Ensemble



Tori Ensemble, Güney Koreli bir halk grubudur. 2007 yılında oluşturulan grup, geomungo sanatçısı Yoon-Jeong Heo’nun liderliğindedir ve Kore geleneksel müziği, caz ve çağdaş klasik müzik kompozisyonlarını çalmaktadır. Grubun diğer beş üyesi, Erik Friedlander (viyolonsel), Kang Kwon Soon (vokal), Young Chi Min (daegum, chang-go), Ned Rothenberg (klarnet ve shakuhachi) ve Satoshi Takeishi (perküsyon)’dir. Kore Vakfı, Kore Topluluğu ve Kore Cumhuriyeti Kültür, Spor ve Turizm Bakanlığı tarafından geleneksel Kore müziğini en iyi temsil eden gruplardan biri olarak kabul edilmiştir. Grup, Avustralya, Malezya, Yeni Zelanda, Slovenya ve ABD gibi ülkelerde sahne almıştır.

The Tori Ensemble sextet formed in 2007 is being led by the geomungo player Yoon-Jeong Heo and plays compositions of Korean traditional music, jazz and contemporary classical music. Other five members of the Ensemble are Erik Friedlander (cello), Kang Kwon Soon (Korean traditional voice), Young Chi Min (daegum, chang-go), Ned Rothenberg (clarinets and shakuhachi), and Satoshi Takeishi (percussion). The band has been endorsed by the Korea Foundation, Korea Society and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of South Korea as one of the most representative bands for Korean traditional music. The band has performed on worldwide venues including countries such as Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Slovenia and United States.
