Sejongdaewangneung, Joseon devrinin Kralı Sejong'un (1397-1450) ve onun esi Kraliçe Soheon”un (1392-1910) mezarıdır. Krali Sejong sadece Kore alfabesi olan Hangeul'un yaratıcısı değil aynı zamanda politika, ekonomi, kültür ve eğitime de fazlasıyla katkıda bulunmuştur. Astronomi alanındaki icatlar, müzik enstrümanları ve müzik alanındaki gelişmeler onun saltanatındaki başarılara bazı örneklerdir. Sejongdaewangneung mezarlığının yapım onarım projesi 1975 yılında başladı. Daha sonra Sejong-jeon ya da Sejongdawngneung'un inşası sağda Chaesil (kurban ayinlerinin yapıldığı oda) ve bronz Krali Sejong heykeli olamak üzere 1977'de kutsal bir mevkide yapılmaya başlandı. Solda kralın onuruna yapılan anıt binası olan Sejong-jeon bulunmaktadır. Koruma altında olan bu binada krala ait jipyeonjeon-haksado (joseon dönemi boyunca Kralı Sejong'un başlıca başarılarından biri olan saray içindeki öğrenme kurumunun konu olduğu resim) pek çok eşya bulunmaktadır. Binanın dışında , kralın haesigye (güneş saati) ve gwancheondae (astronomik gözlem evi) gibi bir dizi eserleri sergilenmektedir..

Sejongdaewangneung is the tomb of King Sejong (1397-1450) of the Joseon Era and his wife Queen Soheon (1392-1910). King Sejong not only created Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, but also contributed greatly in the fields of politics, economics, culture, defense and education. Inventions in the field of astronomy and improvements in musical instruments and music scores are some examples of achievements during his reign. The Sejongdaewangneung Repair and Purification Project began in 1975. It was then designated as a sacred site in 1977 when the construction of the Sejong-jeon, or Sejongdaewangneung; to the right is the Chaesil (the room where sacrificial rituals are held) and the bronze statue of King Sejong. To the left is the Sejong-jeon, which is the memorial hall built in honor of the King. Preserved in this memorial hall are many of his personal belongings such as the Jiphyeonjeon-Haksado (painting of the learning institution within the palace during the Joseon Era, one of King Sejong's major achievements.) Outside the hall, a number of his creations such as the Haesigye (sundial) and Gwancheondae (astronomical observatory) are on display.
