Gyeongju'da Jeonghye Tapınağı Alanı'ndaki taş pagoda Birleşik Silla Dönemi'nden diğer sağ kalan pagodalardan farklı olarak on üç katlı oldukça eşsiz bir yapıya sahip ve 9. yüzyıldan beri değişmeden kalmış.

On üç katlı pagodanın gövdesi tek katlı toprak bir platform üzerinde durur.

Birinci kat çok büyük olduğu halde ikinci kattan itibaren pagoda hızla sivrileşir.

Birinci katın ana gövdesi dört köşesinin her birinde kare taş bir direğe sahip, yardımcı direkler dört direk içerisine bir açıklık oluşturmak için dikilmiş.

Çatı taşları ve destekleri, tüm farklı taşlardan yapılmıştır ve köşeleri ışık etkisi oluşturmak için kalkıktır.

Pagoda üst kısmındaki tokmak şeklindeki süse dayandırılarak sonlandırılmıştır.

Hem de on üç kata sahip olarak, bu pagoda ilk katını vurgulama ve ikinci kattan kademeli olarak boyutun küçültülmesiyle oluşturulan istikrar havası için benzersizdir.

Platform aynı zamanda yaygın stilden uzak.

Bu eşsiz özellikleri sayesinde pagoda Birleşik Silla Dönemi'ne ait taş pagoda çalışmaları için değerli bir kaynak.

Description

The stone pagoda at the Jeonghye Temple Site in Gyeongju has a unique thirteen-story structure quite unlike that of any of the other surviving pagodas of the Unified Silla Period, and has remained unchanged since the 9th century.

The pagoda’s thirteen-story body stands on a single-story earthen platform.

Although the first story is huge, the pagoda tapers sharply from the second story upward.

The main body of the first story has a square stone pillar at each of its four corners, with auxiliary pillars erected inside the four pillars to create an opening.

The roofstones and their supports are all made of different stones, and their corners are raised to create a light impression.

Only the base of pagoda finial remains of the upper extremity of the pagoda.

As well as having thirteen stories, this pagoda is unique for the air of stability created by highlighting its first story and gradually reducing its size from the second story.

The platform also departs from the common style.

Thanks to these unique characteristics, the pagoda is a precious resource for studies of stone pagodas of the Unified Silla Period.
