The Wise Wife Who Had The Son Realese The Respect For His Father

Chungju’da yaşayan yaşlı bir adam vardı. Üç oğluyla yaşayan dul bir babaydı. Oğullarını iyi yetiştirdi; en büyük oğlu üniversitede profesör, oranca olan iyi bir şikette çalışmış, ve en küçük oğlan ise iyi bir üniversiteden mezun olduktan sonra öğretmen olmuştu. Adam, Chungju’da ikinci oğluyla yaşıyordu.
Bir gün, oğulların babası, 60 yaşını doldurmuş arkadaşların davet edildiği doğum günü partisine çağrıldı. Bu, Kore’de 60. yılı kutlamak amacıyla düzenlenen özel bir partidir. Bununla birlikte, kutlamaya katılabilmek için biraz para ödemesi gerekiyordu. En büyük oğluna dedi:
“Arkadaşımın 60. yıl partisine davet edildim. Biraz paraya ihtiyacım var.”

Oğul tek kelime etmeden karısına para verdi. Gelin içeri girdi ve parayı kayınpederine verdi. Adam partiye gitti ancak oğlunun tutumundan dolayı keyif alacak durumda değildi.
Eve döndüğünde bebek torun ağlıyordu. Gelin, bebeği beslemeden bıraktı. Oğul eve dönünce durumu gördü ve bebeği beslemediği için karısını suçladı. Ancak gelin bunu göz ardı etti. Oğul sinirlendi ve bağırdı. Karısı sordu:
“Neden besleyeyim?”
“Ne?”
“Bak! Dul baban seni ve kardeşlerini çok iyi yetiştirdi ve hepinizin iyi işleri var. Şimdi baban senden biraz para istedi diye sen paranın olmadığını söyledin. Ama ben para isteyince tek kelime etmeden bana para verdin. Açıkça belli ki oğlumuzu en iyi şekilde de büyütsem o sadece kendi karısını düşünecek. Madem öyle, onu büyütmenin ne gereği var. Yapmak istemiyorum.”
Oğul ne yanlış yaptığının farkına vardı ve ondan sonra babasına karşı vazifesini en iyi şekilde yerine getirdi.

There was an old man living in Chungju. He was a single father with three sons. He raised them well; the eldest son was a professor at a university, the second son worked for a good company, and the youngest was a teacher after graduating from a good university. He lived in Chungju with the second son.
One day, the father was invited to the birthday party of his friend who had turned 60 years old. (This is a special party in Korea, which celebrates the 60th birthday.) However, he needed some money for an allowance in celebration. He thus said to his son,
"I was invited to the 60th birthday party of my friend. I need some money".
"The weather is bad and you are suffering from a cold. Don't go out! Moreover, I haven't got any money."
"If you don' have money, can you borrow some for me?"
"From whom can I borrow?"
And the son went out.
The daughter-in-law saw this and went after the son.
"Honey. I need to go to the hairdressers'. Can you give me some money?"
The son gave money to her without saying a word. The daughter-in-law came in and gave the money to the father-in-law. He went to the party, but he wasn't in the mood to enjoy it because of his son's attitude.
When he came back home, he saw his baby grandson crying. The daughter-in-law left him alone without feeding him. The son came back at this moment and saw this. He blamed his wife for not feeding the baby. But the wife ignored this. He got angry and shouted. The wife asked,
"Why do I have to feed him?"
"What?"
"Look! Your single father raised you and your brothers so well that all of you have good jobs. Now your father asked for some money and you said that you didn't have any money at all. But, when I asked for some money, you gave it to me without any comment whatsoever. Thus, it is plain that, even if I do my best to raise our son, he will only think of his wife. If so, what is the use for raising him. I don't want to do that."
The son realised what he had done wrong, and, from then on, he did his best duty to his father.
