The Seoul Times is an online English-language newspaper in Korea. Its competitors include The Korea Times, the Korea Herald, and the English edition of the JoongAng Ilbo. The Seoul Times was founded by Joseph Joh on May 1, 2001. The Seoul Times is headquartered in Seoul, although it is operated by a number of correspondents and volunteer writers from around the world.
As its slogan, "Serving All Foreigners Interested in Korea" says, The Seoul Times is the only newspaper that primarily serves foreign readers with news and information. The majority of ST readers are influential people including foreign ambassadors and diplomats, foreign business officials, and other opinion leaders. Highly educated Korean nationals also visit The Seoul Times frequently. Joseph Joh serves as its managing editor.
