“İnsanların benim için hazırladığı pirinç kekini benden evvel yemeğe nasıl cüret edersin?”
Tanrı sineğin kırbaçlanmasını emretti ama sinek:
“Benden evvel yiyeni bıraktığın halde beni nasıl cezalandırırsın?”
“Senden evvel kim yer ki?”
Sinek onun serçe olduğunu söyledi. Neden ilk önce serçenin yediğini sordu ve dedi ki:
“Serçe tahıl tanelerini daha başaklarında olgunlaşmadan yer.”
Tanrı sineğin dediğiyle ikna oldu. Serçeyi huzura getirtti ve onu 18980 kere kırbaçlattı. Serçenin canı öyle yandı ki kırbaçlanırken zıplayıp durdu. Kırbaçlanan serçe bundan böyle yürüyemez ancak zıplar oldu.

The Reason Why Sparrows Jump
Long time ago when people were preparing table for Thanksgiving ceremony after the harvest, a fly settled down on one of the rice cake and began to eat. People got mad at this fly and told God on the fly that it was caught eating before Him. God was enraged with the fly and had it brought to Him and said,
"How come you eat the rice cake humans prepared for me before I do?"
God ordered the fly whipped, but the fly said,
"How come do I get punished when you leave the one that eats before me alone?"
"Who gets to eat before you?"
The fly said it was the sparrow. Asked why the sparrow eats first, the fly said,
"The sparrow gets to eat even before the grains get ripe enough on the stalks."
God was convinced by what the fly told him, and had the sparrow brought to him and whipped 18980 times. The sparrow got hurt so much from the whipping that he jumped up and down. After that, the sparrow jumps around, being unable to walk from the whipping.
