This temple site, located in Gunsu-ri, Buyeo-eup, dates back to the Dynasty of Baekje (18 B.C.-A.D. 660). This fact was revealed through excavations in 1935 and 1936 which also revealed that the temple was built according to the popular plan for a temple with a single pagoda with inner gate, a wooden pagoda, the main building of Geumdang, and the main lecture hall lined up in a north-south direction. The notable thing here is that the foundation of the main building was made with tile. The relics are scattered around the site.
The bricks carved with patterns of a lotus flower or a honeysuckle, gold rings, small beads and others were excavated. In addition, a standing gilt-bronze Bodhisattva (Treasure No. 330) and a stone Buddhist image (Treasure No. 329), steel nails, and the seven-branched sword were found underneath the foundation stones of what had been the wooden pagoda.
The most interesting to see is the seven branched sword.
It has three swords in each side, so it has, totally, seven blades.
Its whereabouts is not known, but the same shaped sword of Baekje in Japan indicates the cultural exchange between Baekje and Japan.
