Sukjeongmun Fortress



Bukdaemun olarak da bilinir. Seoul'un kuzeyinde bulunur. Dört büyük kapısı vardır ve 1396 yılında inşa edilmiştir. Kuzey kapısı kuraklık varken açılmış ve sel olunca geri kapanmış. Bu nedenle kuzey kapısı suyu temsil eder. Dört ana kapısı olmasına rağmen üçü halka açık değildi. Kale dağlık ve engebeli yerde olduğu için bu kapılardan biri halkın girip çıkabilmesi için açıktı.
Sonuçta bu kale 2006 yılında halka açılmıştır.

It was built in 1396 with other four major gates of Seoul fortress and located in the North of Seoul, therefore it was also known as Bukdaemun. The north symbolized water in the past, therefore, the gate was opened when there was drought and it was closed when there was a flood. Although it is one of four major gates, it was not opened to the public unlike other three major gates. It is located in a rugged mountain area that makes it difficult for people to go in and out. It is close to
Cheongwadae as well and was recently opened to the public in 2006.
