Shinsegae Department Store (Shinsegae / 신세계) / Gold PC

Modeller dün, Shinsegae Alisveris Merkezi'nin Seoul subesinde, saf altindan üretilmis bir PC'nin (Kisisel Bilgisayar) yaninda poz vermislerdir. Bilgisayar, 24 karat altindan üretilmis olup, bazi kisimlari da 500 Swarovski kristaliyle süslenmistir. Magazadaki yetkililer, bilgisayarin Pazar gününe kadar sergilenecegini ve birinin onu yaklasik 45 milyon won'a ($40,154) siparis ettigini açiklamislardir.

Models pose next to a PC made of pure gold at the central Seoul branch of Shinsegae Department Store yesterday. The case is made of 24-karat gold and decorated with some 500 Swarovski crystals. Officials at the store said it will be on display until Sunday, and that one can be ordered for around 45 million won ($40,154).

Wooridul Chairs / Spinal Disorders

Modeller, belkemigi rahatsizliklarini önlemeye yardimci olmasi için tasarlanmis olan yeni Wooridul sandalyelerine oturmuslardir. Sandalyeler, bel desteginin yanisira gögüs ve legen kemigi için de destek saglamaktadir. Britanya merkezli tasarim sirketi Tangerine ile birlikte ortaklasa kurulan Wooridul Life Sciences Sirketi dün, sandalyeler için Seoul'ün güneyindeki Renaissance Otel'de bir kutlama organize etmistir. Wooridul Sandalyeleri, on dört farkli renkte olup, yaklasik 2000,000 won'a ($180) gelmektedir.

Models sit on a new line of Wooridul chairs designed to help prevent spinal disorders. They include pelvic and chest support instead of regular back support. Wooridul Life Sciences Ltd. held a launching ceremony for the chair, which was jointly developed with Britain-based design company Tangerine, yesterday at the Renaissance Hotel in southern Seoul. The Wooridul Chair comes in 14 different colors and costs around 200,000 won ($180).

Koreli Arastirmacilar Sebzelerin Anti-kanserojen Etkilerini Saptadilar

Yerel bir arastirma ekibi, çesitli sebzelerin kanser önleyici özelliklerini belirledi.

Konkuk Üniversitesi Biyolojik Bilim profesörü Lee Ki-won ve ekibi lüteolin diye adlandirilan bir flavonoidin (vitamin P / sitrin) antikanserojen maddeler içerdigini kesfetti.

Lüteolin, kereviz,sogan,havuç ve yesil biber gibi birçok sebzede bulunmaktadir. Bu flavonoid, tümörlerin olusmasini ve gelismesini engellemek için bulundu.

Bulgular, uluslararasi akademik bir dergi olan "Cancer Research" dergisinin son sayisinda yayinlandi.

Korean Researchers Confirm Anticancer Effects of Veggies
A domestic research team has identified the anticarcinogenic properties of various vegetables.

Konkuk University bioscience professor Lee Ki-won and his team found that a flavonoid called luteolin possesses anticarcinogens.

Luteolin is present in various vegetables such as celery, onions, carrots and green peppers. The flavonoid is found to help curb the creation and growth of tumors.

The findings were published in the latest edition of the international academic journal “Cancer Research.”

DMB 2.0 / Web Surfing

SK Telecom çalisanlari dün, Seoul'de yer alan sirketin merkezinde, radyo dinlerken veya televizyon izlerken kullanicilara internette sörf yapma imkani saglayan DMB 2,0 (Dijital Multimedya Yayin) adli yeni hizmetini göstermislerdir. Kore'nin en büyük mobil operatörü, alti yerel DMB yayin sirketiyle birlikte ortaklik yapmistir.

SK Telecom employees demonstrate yesterday the DMB 2.0, a new service that allows users to surf the web while watching TV or listening to the radio, at the company’s headquarters in central Seoul. Korea’s largest mobile operator started DMB 2.0 in a partnership with six local DMB broadcasting companies.

Hyundai Motor provides protocol vehicles for B4E summit

Roads alongside Saemangeum dike to open

Gunsan (군산시), Jeollabuk-do (North Jeolla Province / 전라 북도)

Kore'nin 280 km güneyinde bati kiyisinda bulunan 33 km uzunlugundaki Saemangeum su bentinin havadan fotografi çekildi.

Kuzey Jeolla Bölgesindeki Gunsan ve Buan bölgesine birbirine baglayan Saemangeum su benti, 27 Nisan'da açilacak.

An aerial view of the 33-km-long Saemangeum dike on the west coast some 280 km south of Seoul. The Saemangeum dike road, which links Gunsan city and Buan county in North Jeolla Province, will open on April 27.
