Son Dongman House / 손동만 가옥

Bu büyük ev, Joseon Hanedanlığında (1484), Kral Seongjong'un saltanatının 15. yılında köyün kurucusu Son So (1433-1484) tarafından yapılmıştır. Gyeongju'nun başkanlık konutudur ve bazen Seobaekdong evi olarak anılır. Son Jungdon (Ujae: 1463-1529) ve bir torununun, hem de büyük Konfüçyüs bilgini Yi Eon-Jeok'un (Hoejae: 1491-1553) bu evde doğduğu söylenmektedir.

Ev, bir anchae (iç kısım), bir sarangchae (dış kısım), bir sadangchae (aile türbesi) ve bir türbe kapısından oluşmaktadır. Dış kısımda üçgen çatılar bulunurken, iç kısımda üçgen ve kabarık çatılar bulunur. Dış kısmın önünde birkaç yüzyıllık Ardıç Ağacı vardır. Bu ağaç 8. Gyeongsangbuk-do Anıtı olarak belirlenmiştir.

This large house was built by Son So (1433-1484), who later became the founder of the village, in the 15th year of King Seongjong's reign of the Joseon Kingdom (1484). It is the head residence of the Gyeongju Son clan, and is sometimes called Seobaekdong house. It is said that his son, Son Jungdon (Ujae: 1463-1529) and a grandson, the great Confucian scholar Yi Eon-jeok (Hoejae: 1491-1553) were both born here.

The house consists of an anchae (inner quarters), a sarangchae (outer quarters), a sadangchae (family shrine) and a shrine gate. The inner quarters, shaped like a square, has hipped and gabled roofs while the outer quarters has a gabled roof. In front of the outer quarters is a large juniper tree several hundred years old. The tree has been designated Gyeongsangbuk-do Monument #8.
