Sanjo, kum saati şeklinde, performansı solo yapılır. Gayageum (12 telli bir çalgı.) Sanjo için gereklidir. Gayageum çalmak; koroda aynı anda Gayageum çalıp söylemektir. Sanjo performansı bir düzen içerisinde yavaş ve hızlı tempo içinde yapılır. İzleyenleri yavaş yavaş heyecanlı ve eğlenceli hale getirir. Bu olay bir düzen içerisinde yapılmaktadır. Gayageum Sanjo 4 ilâ 6 vurma sesi ile oluşmaktadır. Bunların arasında Jinyangjo çok yavaş ve lirik ayrıca, Jungmor ise sabittir. Jujungmori, dinleyicileri heyecanlandırır ve Jujungmori canlıdır. Hwimmori de heyecan ve ısrar duygusu bulunmaktadır. Gayageum, kısa şiirlerden alınan bölümler ile koro performansı sergiler. Gayageum Sanjo performansı orijinal ustaları tarafından sergilenir ancak, Gayageum çalınırken koro performansından ayrılır. Gayageum çalmak ve koro halinde söylemek önemli bir manevi kültürel varlık olarak tasarlanmıştır.

Sanjo is performed in a way of solo to hourglass-shaped drum. Gayageum(a Korean instrument with 12 strings) Sanjo is to play Gayageum. Gayageum-playing in chorus is to sing a song with playing Gayageum. All Sanjo are performed in an order of slow and fast tempo, which makes the audience gradually excited and joyful. Gayageum Sanjo is composed of 4 to 6 beats. Among them, Jinyangjo is very slow and lyrical and Jungmori is stable. Jungjungmori makes the audience encouraged and Jajinmori is light and buoyant. Hwimori has a sense of excitement and urgency. Gayageum-playing in chorus is performed with citing a passage of a short poem and Pansori. It was originally performed by masters in Gayageum Sanjo, however, the performers of Gayageum Sanjo and Gayageum-playing in chorus are divided. As an important solo music seeking pureness, Gayageum Sanjo and Gayageum-playing in chorus were designated as important intangible cultural assets.
