Silleuk Temple (신륵사 / Silleuk-sa)



Bu tapınak nehir kenarında inşa edilmiş tek tapınaktır. Namhangang nehrinin yanındadır. Bu tapınakta büyüleyici güzellikte dini emanetler mevcuttur. Silla hanedanlığı zamanında Budist rahip Saint Wonhyo tarafından inşa edildiği söylenmektedir. Ancak hiç bir kalıntı bu görüşü desteklememektedir. Bununla beraber Goryeo hanedanlığı sırasında, Kral King Wu'nun tahta geçtiğinin 2. yılında (1376), Saint Nawung tapınağa geldikten sonra ünlenmiştir.

Situated in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, the Silleuksa Temple Resort (신륵사관광지) features countless relics and remains, awe-inspiring scenery, the Geumeun Sand Zone, and Silleuksa Temple. Silleuksa Temple is also referred to as the byeokjeol (‘walled temple’ because it has a pagoda made entirely of bricks). The pagoda was erected by the renowned Buddhist monk Wonhyo during the Silla Dynasty, and is visited by many who are drawn to the beautiful natural scenery along the banks of the Namhangang River, which is served by convenient transportation.

Directions:

A bus runs between Seoul (Dong Seoul) and Yeoju (06:30-21:40) and takes 90 minutes. Catch a bus in the direction of the Silleuksa Temple Resort at the bus stop in front of the Yeoju Terminal or Yeoju Town; it takes only 10 minutes.
