Shinhwa, hiçbir grup üyesini değiştirmeden, en uzun süre çalışan Güney Koreli erkek grubudur. Grup, 24 Mart 1998 tarihinde 6 üye ile çıkış yaptı: Eric Mun, Lee Min-woo, Kim Dong-wan, Shin Hye-sung, Jun Jin and Andy Lee. Grup, Sechs Kies, g.o.d., Turbo, Fin. K.L., H.O.T. ve S.E.S. grupları yanında başarı kazanmıştır.

Başlangıçta SM Entertainment altında oluşturulan grup, Temmuz 2003’te kontratlarının bitmesi üzerine Good Entertainment’e geçmiştir. Shinhwa olarak Good Entertainment altındayken, üyelerin her biri bireysel şirketleri altında solo kariyerlerini sürdürdüler. Grup ayrıca erkek grubu Battle’a rehberlik yapmıştır. 2011 yılında, grup üyeleri birlikte performans sergilemek için Shinhwa Company’yi kurdu. 4 yıllık aradan sonra, grup üyeleri bireysel zorunlu askerlik hizmetlerini yaptığı sırada, 10. albümleri The Return ve konser turuyla, Mart 2012’de yeniden müzik endüstrisinde çıkış yaptılar.

Shinhwa (Hangul: 신화, Hanja: 神話) is the longest running South Korean boy band with no line-up changes. The group debut on 24 March 1998 with six members: Eric Mun, Lee Min-woo, Kim Dong-wan, Shin Hye-sung, Jun Jin and Andy Lee. It has enjoyed success alongside Sechs Kies, g.o.d., Turbo, Fin. K.L., H.O.T. and S.E.S.. Shinhwa is the Korean word for myth or legend.[1][2][3]

Initially formed under SM Entertainment, upon the expiration of their contract Shinhwa moved to Good Entertainment, in July 2003. Whilst under Good Entertainment as Shinhwa, each of the members pursued their own solo careers under individual companies. The group also mentored Korean boy bandBattle. In 2011, members of the group formed Shinhwa Company to continue to perform together. They made their comeback to the music industry in March 2012, after a four year hiatus, during which the band members served individual mandatory military services, with the release of their tenth album The Returnand concert tour.
