1994’ten bu yana Jeju Adası’nın Seongsan Ilchulbong Bölgesi’nin zirvesinde (Gündoğumu Zirvesi) düzenlenir. Burası, Jeju Adası’nın en ünlü gündoğumu seyir noktasıdır ve yıl boyunca kalabalık gruplar halinde birçok turist çeker. Bununla birlikte, bölge özellikle Yeni yıl arifesinde yoğundur. Yani Aralık ayının 31’i, Ocak ayının 1’i ve 2’sinde. Önceki yıla son verecek olan gündoğumunu izlemeye gelip yeni yıl dilekleri dileyecek birçok turisti bekleyen çeşitli festival programları vardır.

Jeju Uluslararası Havalimanı’ndan 100 numaralı otobüse binip Jeju Şehiriçi Otobüs terminali’ne gidin. Ilju Yolu (doğu) (동회일주) sınırına giden şehir içi otobüslerden birine binin. Seongsan Ilchulbong’un (성산일출봉) girişinde inin.

Launched in 1994, the Seongsan Sunrise Festival is held on top of Jeju Island’s Seongsan Ilchulbong or “Sunrise Peak.” The site is the most famous place for seeing the sunrise on Jeju Island and attracts a large crowd of tourists throughout the year. However, the place is especially busy on New Year’s Eve when the festival (on December 31, January 1, and 2) is held. A variety of festival programs awaits them for tourists who come to see the first sunrise to reflect on the past year and make wishes for the coming year.

Transportation:
From Jeju International Airport, take Bus 100 to Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal.
From Jeju Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus bound for Ilju Road (East) (동회일주).
Get off at the entrance of Seongsan Ilchulbong (성산일출봉).
