Kuzey Gyeongsang’ın Bonghwa İlçesinde bulunan Nakdong Nehri Sepyeong Köprüsü, Seungbu İstasyonundan Buncheon İstasyonuna giden bir tren güzergahını takip ediyor.

Bonghwa

Kuzey Gyeongsang’ın Bonghwa İlçesindeki küçük tren istasyonları el değmemiş huzur verici doğasıyla Nakdong Nehri Vadisi güzergahında bulunuyor. Seungbu, Yangwon, Bidong ve Buncheon İstasyonunu birbirine bağlayan yol Nakdong Nehri Sepyeong Köprüsü olarak biliniyor. Sepyeong Korece “se” (üç) ile “pyeong” (36 metre kareye denk bir Kore ölçü birimi) sözcüklerinin bir araya gelerek oluşturduğu bileşik bir sözcüktür. Sözcük dağ vadisinin manzarasını ve derin vadiden kaynaklanan gökyüzünün küçüklüğünü tasvir ediyor.

Rota tren raylarının yanı sıra, sıra dağların ve vadinin olduğu bir manzara sunuyor. Bu, Seungbu İstasyonundan Buncheon İstasyonuna kadar uzanan 12 kilometrelik bir rota ama nispeten yollar düz ve yürüyerek 4 saatte bitirilebilir. Kısa bir yürüyüş yapmak istiyorsanız yol 3 küçük yola ayrılıyor.

Ganghwa Adası, Incheon

Incheon’un Ganghwa Adasında 20 yürüyüş rotası bulunuyor ama en romantik olanı Ganghwa Doryeong yoludur.

Rota, Kral Cheoljong ile Bongi adında bir köylünün arasındaki aşk hikayesine dayanıyor. İkisi, kral adaya sürgüne gönderildiği zaman birbirlerine aşık oluyorlar. Rota, kralın Yongheung Sarayındaki karargahından ikilinin ilk buluştuğu yer olarak bilinen Cheongha-dong’a kadar uzanıyor.

Ziyaretçiler Cheongha-dong’dan memurların kaldığı Ganghwa Ormanına ve Namjangdae’ye tırmanabilirler. Ganghwa’nın şehir manzarası ve engin okyanus ormandan görülebilmektedir. Rota Cheoljong’un dayısı Yeom Bo-gil’in malikanesinde bitiyor.

Gimpo


Yukarıdan aşağıya: Gimpo’daki 1. Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Rotası Yeomha Nehrini takip ediyor, Ulsan’daki Ganjeol Burnu Doğu Denizine doğru uzanıyor, Ganghwa Adasındaki Ganghwa Doryeong yolu ziyaretçilerin Ganghwa’nın şehir manzarasını yüksekten görmesini sağlıyor, Güney Chungcheong’daki Seosan Arame-gil tarih, kültür ve doğa ile dolup taşan bir rota olarak birçok ziyaretçi alıyor.

Gimpo’daki 1. Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Rotası, Daemyeong Limanındaki Yeomha Nehri yakınlarındaki Gimpo’dan başlıyor. Munsu Ormanına kadar devam ediyor. Bu nehir Ganghwa Adası ile Gimpo’yu ayırıyor.

4 saatlik bu rota Daemyeong Limanından başlayıp Deokpojin ve Swaeam-ri’ye uzanıyor ve sonra da Munsu Ormanında sonlanıyor. Toplam 14 kilometrelik bu mesafe gözünüzü korkutuyorsa yalnızca limandan Deokpojin’e yürüyebilir ve huzurlu nehir manzarasını izleyebilirsiniz.

Ulsan

Somang-gil Ganjeol Burnu, Ulsan’daki 8 kilometrelik yol boyunca Doğu Denizinden manzaralar sunan bir rotadır. Orman yolu sahil, park ve denize kıyısı olan bir köyden geçiyor. Düz arazisinden dolayı çok zorlanmazsınız. Bu yol yürüyüşçülerin Kore’de güneşin ilk doğduğu yeri görebilecekleri Ganjeol Burnundan geçiyor. Ganjeol Burnunda “umut kutusu” adlı bir posta kutusu var. Kutuya atılan tüm mektuplar ücretsiz gönderiliyor.

Suncheon

Güney Jeolla’ya bağlı Suncheon, gökyüzüne uzanan sazlıklarıyla ünlüdür. 1. Namdo Sambaekri-gil Rotası Suncheon Koyunun etrafını dolaşıyor ve rotanın her yeri kamışlarla çevrilidir. Rota Waon Köyü yakınlarında başlıyor ve muhteşem gün doğumuyla ziyaretçilerin kalbini çalabilen Hwapo Sahilinde sonlanıyor.

Rota: Waon Köyü - Nowol Köyü - Gudong Köyü - Yongsan Gözetleme Kulesi - Suncheon Koyu Su Rezervi - Göçmen kuşların yaşam alanı - Jangsan Köyü - Umyeong Köyü - Hwapo Sahili.

16 kilometre, 5 saat, kolay düzeyde.

Seosan

Güney Chungcheong’a bağlı Seosan’daki Arame-gil yolunun adındaki ‘ara’nın anlamı deniz, ‘me’nin anlamı dağdır. 1. Seosan Arame-gil Rotası birçok harikulade alanla doludur. Rota hem doğanın hem de Kore tarihinin güzel unsurlarını da içeriyor.

Bu rotada eski Baekje Krallığı (M.Ö 18-M.S 660) ve Joseon Hanedanlığına (1392-1910) ait kalıntılar bulunuyor. Burada Joseon Hanedanlığının son yıllarında 1.000’i aşkın Katolik idam edilmiş. Dağların üzerindeki Budist tapınakları ve heykelleri ormanlara heybetli bir hava ekliyor.

Toplam 18 kilometreye kadar uzanan uzun bir rota. Ancak doğa, tarih ve kültür gibi ögelerin hepsinin bir yerde toplandığı insanlığa büyük bir hediye de. Rotanın en ilgi çekici yanı ise Yonghyeon Vadisinden Haemi Kalesi alanına kadar olan bir yol olmasıdır.

The Nakdong River Sepyeong Sky Walk in Bonghwa, North Gyeongsang, follows a train line from Seungbu Station to Buncheon Station.

Every season in Korea has its charms, but autumn’s clear blue skies and cool winds make an especially strong case for it being the best time for a walk outside. Summer is too hot and humid, winter is frigid and the choking fine dust keeps people inside during much of the springtime.

To help trekkers make the most out of the pleasant weather, here are six promenades located across Korea that are perfect for September.

The courses vary in scenery, distance and difficulty, so be sure to check the details for each before heading off. Detailed information can be found at www.durunubi.kr.

Bonghwa

In Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang, small train stations are located along the Nakdong River valley, where untouched nature sits in peace. The path that connects Seungbu Station, Yangwon Station, Bidong Station and Buncheon Station is called the Nakdong River Sepyeong Sky Walk. Sepyeong is a compound made from the Korean words se (three) and pyeong (a Korean measurement for space equivalent to 36 square feet). The term describes the scenery in the mountain valley and the small size of the sky caused by the deep valley.

The path offers views on the mountain range and the valley, with the train tracks along the side. The course stretches for 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from Seungbu Station to Buncheon Station, but the course is relatively flat and can be finished within a four-hour walk. For those looking for a shorter walk, the path is divided into three smaller courses.

Course 1: Seungbu Station - Yangwon Station, 5.6 kilometers.

Course 2: Yangwon Station - Bidong Station, 2.5 kilometers.

Course 3: Bidong Station - Buncheon Station, 4.3 kilometers.

Ganghwa Island, Incheon

There are 20 trekking courses on Ganghwa Island in Incheon, but the most romantic is the Ganghwa Doryeong path.

The course is based on the love story between King Cheoljong (1849-63) and a peasant named Bongi. The two fell in love while the king was sent into exile on the island. The course stretches from the king’s headquarters at the Yongheung Palace and leads up to Cheongha-dong, where the two are said to have first met.

From Cheongha-dong, visitors can climb up to Ganghwa Fortress and Namjangdae, where officials stayed. The cityscape of Ganghwa and the vast ocean is all visible from the fortress. The course finishes at the residence of Cheoljong’s maternal uncle, Yeom Bo-gil.

Course: Ganghwa Terminal -Yongheung Palace - Cheongha-dong - Chanumul Mineral Spring -Cheoljong’s maternal home.

11.7 kilometers, 3 hours 30 minutes, moderate difficulty.

Gimpo


From top: Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Course 1 in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, follows the Yeomha River; Ganjeol Cape Somang-gil in Ulsan stretches along the East Sea; Ganghwa Doryeong path on Ganghwa Island, Incheon, allows visitors to see the Ganghwa cityscape from up on high; Seosan Arame-gil in South Chungcheong takes visitors on a course packed with history, culture and nature.

The Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Course 1 in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, starts in western Gimpo near Yeomha River at the Daemyeong Port. It continues on to the Munsu Fortress. The Yeomha River, which divides Ganghwa Island and Gimpo, sits quietly at the side.

The course takes about four hours starting from Daemyeong Port and heading to Deokpojin and Swaeam-ri and ending at Munsu Fortress. If the total distance of 14 kilometers scares you off, just walk from the port to Deokpojin and back to take in the peaceful river view.

Course: Daemyeong Port - Deokpojin - Swaeam-ri rest area - Goyang-ri rest area - South Gate of Munsu Fortress.

Ulsan

The Ganjeol Cape Somang-gil is a course that offers views of the East Sea over the course of its 8-kilometer route in Ulsan. The forest trail passes by the beach, park and village alongside the sea. Its flat terrain doesn’t pose much of a challenge. It passes by Ganjeol Cape, where walkers can see the first sunrise in mainland Korea. There’s a post box on the cape named the “hope post box.” Any letter put in the box is sent for free.

Course 1: Myeongseon Bridge - Jinha Beach, 1.6 kilometers.

Course 2: Daebawi Park - Ganjeol Cape, 3.6 kilometers.

Course 3: Ganjeol Cape - Pyeongdong Village, 1.2 kilometers.

Course 4: Pyeongdong Village - Nasa Beach, 2.2 kilometers.


The Namdo Sambaekri-gil Course 1 circumnavigates Suncheon Bay in Suncheon, South Jeolla. Visitors can take a walk along a path surrounded by reeds.

Suncheon

Suncheon in South Jeolla is famous for its reed fields that stretch out into the horizon. The Namdo Sambaekri-gil Course 1 circumnavigates the Suncheon Bay and is surrounded by the reeds. The course begins near Waon Village and ends at Hwapo Beach, where the spectacular sunrise may steal the heart of visitors.

Course: Waon Village - Nowol Village - Gudong Village - Yongsan Lookout - Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve - Migrant birds’ habitat area - Jangsan Village - Umyeong Village - Hwapo Beach.

16 kilometers, 5 hours, easy.

Seosan

The name of Arame-gil, a path in Seosan, South Chungcheong, comes from ara, meaning sea, and me, which means mountain. Course 1 of the Seosan Arame-gil course is packed with a wide variety of delightful sites. It includes both nature and beautiful elements of Korean history.

The course includes remnants of the ancient Baekje Kingdom (18 B.C.-660 A.D.) and the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). In this area, over 1,000 Catholics were put to death during the later years of the Joseon Dynasty. Up on the mountains, Buddhist temples and sculptures add a sublime mood to the forests.

The course is long, as it stretches for a total of 18 kilometers. However, it is a gift-pack of nature, history and culture all in one place. The highlight of the course is the route from the Yonghyeon Valley to the Haemi Castle area.

Course: Yu Gibang House - Seonjeong Tomb - Yu Sangmuk House - Mipyeong Bridge - Gopung Reservoir - Yonghyeon Valley entrance - Rock-carved triad Buddha in Seosan -Bowon Temple - Gaesim Temple - Imdo Border - Junction - Jeongja - Northern Gate of Haemi Castle area - parking lot of the Haemi Castle area.
