Futbol hayatına 2002'de J-Lig'de bulunan F.C. Tokyo takımında başlamıştır. Ayrıca oyuncu J-Lig'de oynayan en genç Koreli oyuncudur. Daha sonra iki seneliğine Daegu FC isimli K-Lig kulübüne transfer olmuştur. Daha sonrasında Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i kulübüne transfer olmuş ve burada 2007 K-Lig Kupası'nı kazanmıştır.Kariyerinin ilk profesyonel üçlemesinide yine bu kulüpte Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors'ye karşı oynanan maçta yapmıştır. Futbolcu 1 Şubat 2011 tarihi itibari ile Suwon Bluewings takımına transfer olmuştur.
Uluslararası Kariyeri
Futbolcu hem genç hemde normal milli takımlarını parçası olmuştur. 2005 FIFA Dünya Gençler Şampiyonası'nda U-20 takımında yer almıştır. Güney Kore'nin 2006 yılında Gana'ya karşı oynadığı maç ile de ilk defa milli takımda yer almıştır.

Club career
In 2002, Oh Jang-Eun debuted for Japanese J. League Division 1 side F.C. Tokyo, and set the record for the youngest player to play in the J-League. Unusually for a Korean, he spent time in the junior ranks of F.C Tokyo, rather than having a youth career with a Korean University side. He moved to South Korean K-League side Daegu FC, where he would spend two seasons. He then moved to his present club Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i in 2007, and contributed to the win in the 2007 K-League Cup. He made a professional career first hat-trick in an away match against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on 23 September 2006.
On 1 February 2011, Oh Jang-Eun signed for Suwon Bluewings.
International career
Oh has been a member of the national side, both at junior and senior level. He played in the U-20 side in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. A part-timer in the senior side since making his senior debut against Ghana in 2006, the most recent of his 14 caps was against Japan, during the 2010 East Asian Football Championship.
