Nojeokbong
During the Japanese Invasion of Korea, the Japanese stationed just off Gogeum island, where the Korean Commander in Chief, General Lee Sun Shin, was preparing to meet the enemy.
He ordered bundles of straw and straw sacks heaped on the top of Yudal mountain in Mokpo. From where the Japanese stationed, they looked like real stacks of grain, and the Japanese thought that the Korean army had enough provisions ready for the battle, which made them hesitate to make an attack on the Korean army.
Later, people named the mountain top Nojeokbong to commemorate the General's resourcefulness.
