1978 yılında bulunan ve bu ağır hava şartları üzerinde araştırma yapmak üzere Kore Meteroloji İdaresi desteği ile ortak yararlar sağlamak ve ilerlemek için bulundu.n(KMA) METRI araştırmacıları sert meteoroloji koşullarına karşı yeni teknikler geliştirmek için çalışıyor. Sayısal tahmin sistem desteği KMA, ortak düşünceleri gelecekte bir insan gücü kadar büyütmek, mevcut misyon METRI'ni arttırmak, can ve mal kaybına ve afetlere karşı 21.yüzyılın küresel ısınmanın etkileri ve anormal hava olayları gibi iklim değişikliğini azaltmak için temsili sağlanmaktadır.

National Institute of Meteorological Research (nimr) was found in 1978 to carry out the research on such severe weathers and to progress common benefits by supporting Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).Researchers at METRI have been working hard to develop the new techniques in meteorology, support the digital forecasting system of KMA, and magnify a man power in our common future. Finally, the current mission assign to METRI is to save life and property against disasters and to provide the way to mitigate the climate change in the 21st century represented as global warming effects and abnormal weather phenomena. Establishing a partnership with the other institutions of the world is the step we have passed and will be continued as well.
