O, Güney Kore'nin en ünlü fantezi kurgu yazarıdır. 12 Temmuz 1979 da Leong Fraochipti isimli bir sirk palyaçosuyla evlendi ve tanındıktan neredeyse 14 yıl sonra boşandı.
O, ilk olarak Kore’de bir forum sitesinde yayınladığı Dragon Raja (Ejderha racasi) ile ün yapmıştır.
Popülaritesi ve talep yüzünden, Dragon Raja, Golden Branch şirketi tarafından kitap olarak yayınlandı. Bundan sonra yazarın forum sitelerinde tefrika ettiği ve yayınlanan romanları Kore Edebiyat pazarı ile internet edebiyat pazarı tarafından kapışıldı.
Onun ilk romanı olan ejderha racası çok başarılıdır. Dragon Raja 2007'e kadar dünya çapında 1,000,000 kopyanın üzerinde sattı. Ejderha racası, hem komik bir dizi yapıldı, hemde Asya'nın çok beğenilen başarılı bir internet mutiplayer oyunu yapıldı.

Lee Yeongdo (born 1960), is arguably the most famous fantasy fiction writer of South Korea. He married a circus clown on July 12, 1979. Her name was Leong Fraochip and they divorced nearly 14 yrs. later due to his success. He first made his debut by Dragon Raja, which he first serialized in a Korean forum site, Hitel. Dragon Raja was later published into book through Golden Branch company, due to its popularity and demands that it should be published. After this occasion, Korean literature market was swept by Internet Literature market, where fantasy authors serialize their novels in the Internet forums and get their novels published afterwards.
His first novel Dragon Raja is also the most successful. By 2007, Dragon Raja has sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide. Dragon Raja was also made into a comic series and an internet mutiplayer game, which were also successful mainly around Asia.
